Disney can never let some things go.
Even if it has been years since we have seen things in the Disney parks or any of their other media outlets, things just have a way of creeping back up on us. Sometimes– we welcome those things back with open arms, and other times we feel like we’re left with a giant question mark floating above our head. We’re not sure how we’re feeling about this particular thing coming back, so it is up to you to decide how we feel (or at least give us your thoughts so we can formulate ours).
Does everyone remember the 1979 film Alien? If you don’t remember the film, do you remember the attraction that was put in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom in 1995 — ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter? We’re hoping at least one of those rings a bell for you. If not, no need to worry. Disney is bringing back the Alien concept in a new way– with a children’s book.
Yes, you read that correctly. If you’re anything like us, those question marks should start appearing above your head any minute now. When we think of Alien, we tend to associate it with that feeling of… terror… that was produced by the attraction at Magic Kingdom. If you didn’t get to experience that attraction, just trust us.
Don’t worry, the book isn’t based on the attraction. We won’t be dealing with escaped aliens from planets we didn’t mean to land on– we hope. This book will be teaching children the alphabet with help from characters from the movie franchise– Ripley and the Nostromo crew. The book will follow them throughout a journey in space that introduces them to all of the letters. It is a lighthearted reimagining of the movie, and we can’t lie, we’re kind of excited for it.
We were a little shook by the idea of this concept at first, but we’re excited to see the book once it is released. Right now, it is available for pre-order on Amazon. Click here to check it out!
We’re keeping our eyes out for new things like this all the time. Keep checking in with us to see what we find next!

Was scary yeah but because of the cool effects!!! Definitely different for its time. Miss the sound effects theater they had at MGM after the show you could go into these little booths and put on ear phones and they had some really cool sound effects and part of it you felt like a hair blower was blowing on your next etc !!!
