There are some Disney World problems that you may never see coming.
There are a lot of new problems coming in 2024, some nasty problems we’re all dreading…and then there are some you won’t know are problems until they happen to you. What do we mean? Here’s a prime example.
You know how they always say to watch your feet when you’re on those moving walkways and escalators? Well, this is exactly why.
Yes. Those are Crocs, stuck in the escalator at The Land Pavilion in EPCOT! Which means the entire thing is closed down and can’t run.
Y’all, this happens ALL. THE. TIME. We’ve seen this exact escalator shut down about three or four times with crocs stuck right there!
So if you see the escalator closed, there’s a high probability this is the reason why.
To avoid your Crocs meeting the same fate, REALLY pay attention when you are on the escalators and make sure your feet aren’t too close to the edge. It’s also important to watch your kids closely as well! (The sacrificial Crocs we’ve seen are usually kiddos’ versions.)
And GET THIS — technically, there’s a rule that Crocs are not allowed at escalators in Disney World! No, seriously! There are signs at Disney Springs that say so. Your best bet is to take the stairs or elevator if you’re wearing Crocs.
Ha ha — can you imagine the graphic designer who was given that assignment? “We gotta tell people not to wear Crocs on our escalators, so, uh, can you make a sticker for that?” Whoever it was did a pretty good job, though!
The big question is…what happens when you lose your shoes to the escalator mechanics? I guess you have to walk barefoot until you find a new pair overpriced footwear? Gross!
Has this happened to you? Let me know! I’d love to hear your story!
We had the worst case scenario happen at our Disney World hotel — here’s what to do when that happens!

Okay, didn’t happen to me but to my mother. She was wearing crocs while unpacking her car and stepped in a ditch. The crocs didn’t slip off and instead of twisting her ankle she broke it! She had to crawl back to the car to call for help because, as is usual, she didn’t have her cell phone handy. She no longer wears crocs and I’m always telling her to keep her cell phone handy!! We are a very graceless family.

The crocs in the picture are my great nephew’s. His mother had just warned him to be careful on the escalators while wearing crocs and then this happened.

These are my son’s crocs! It happened on marathon day. My husband sent me pics after I completed the marathon. He had to walk in his socks to a gift shop all the way over by the lake where the boat rides are. They did give him a voucher for new crocs, but seemed reluctant to cash it in when he chose the most expensive HM crocs!

I love the fact that everyone is owning up to it. These things happen, I wear the crock sandals and have never regretted it. I also keep my phone close 😂
