A LOT has changed in Disney World over the past several years.
We’ve seen new rides open in both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. We’ve witnessed the launch of Genie+Â and all the changes its seen since then. We watched EPCOT completely transform! Well, we’ve got a new CHANGE to tell you about. Meeting characters in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is DIFFERENT.
If you’ve visited Hollywood Studios recently, you may have noticed that some characters there don’t have actual meet and greets, but they do appear in “character sightings.” This means they’re just kinda doing their own thing and maybe occasionally waving at guests from a distance. For example, we can’t tell you how many times we’ve watched Chip ‘n’ Dale have a picnic in the center of the park.
Well, that has changed! Now, these characters are available for actual meet-and-greets! Instead of having a picnic on the lawn, Chip and Dale are waiting to meet YOU (and probably also trying to get up to some hijinx, knowing them).
As long as the weather permits, these two will meet by Echo Lake. You’ll also find information on how to find them in the My Disney Experience app, which has also been updated with new meet-and-greet times and locations.
Also, Donald and Daisy are no longer participating in character sightings but actual meet-and-greets. These two are SO much fun. We love how Daisy always keeps Donald in line.
You can find their new meet-and-greet location on the app, too. They’re over by Dinosaur Gertie!
Goofy and Max have moved over to Grand Avenue for their meet-and-greet!
Now, this meet-and-greet isn’t brand-new, as Goofy has been hanging out here for a while, but we wanted to make sure you knew the pair had moved. You used to be able to see Max over at Echo Lake, and Goofy even visited the Tower of Terror from time to time back in the day.
So that means you have an opportunity to get photos with even MORE characters at Hollywood Studios. For those of you who rely on Disney Cast Members for your Disney photos — we saw PhotoPass photographers with each character couple!
Note that times and locations could change from day to day, so be sure to check the My Disney Experience app to get the most updated information.

Jim says
I think character sightings are much more fun than meet and greets. It gives greater amounts of guests time to enjoy characters at the same time, instead of standing in a long line waiting for a picture.

Donald, Daisy and Goofy were doing Meet and Greets in October in HS when I was there. I got photos with them and everything. Though super excited about Chip, Dale and Max though!!

Oh, that’s exciting. Meanwhile Universal is adding a whole park! Start investing in the theme parks!
