Are you ready for a change this weekend?
The change we’re talking about is…Spring, meaning it’s Daylight Savings Time once again (that whole spring-forward or fall-back time change that happens twice a year). So we’ll be getting an extra hour of glorious Florida sunshine in the evenings, and we’ll also be seeing a specific change at one of the Disney World parks.
Over in Animal Kingdom, Kilimanjaro Safaris will have new evening hours starting on March 10th with Daylight Savings Time.
Up until Match 9th, this ride runs until 5:45PM each night, and that’s unique compared to the other attractions at Animal Kingdom in that it closes early to accommodate the animals.
Starting on March 10th, the Safaris will be closing at 6:45PM. That gives you an extra hour each day to enjoy the ride.
That’s not the only time change. According to the Disney World website, on March 24th, the ride will close at 6PM, and it looks like it will continue to close at 6PM from that point on (at this moment, the Disney World calendar only shows operating hours through early May).
You’re going to want to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app when planning a trip to Disney World. It’s how you’re going to know how late everything in the park will remain open.
Park hours have a tendency to change at a moment’s notice, so keep an eye out for that too. Until then, we’ll be on the lookout for more changes that could be impacted by Daylight Saving Time, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest news and updates from Disney World and more!
