Becoming a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member is a big decision, but it can be great for families who aren’t local to the parks and want to visit at least once every year.
Disney Vacation Club is essentially Disney’s version of a timeshare program. Members choose a select number of points they’ll pay for each year, as well as a “home resort” (but can choose to use their points at any hotel). Certain hotel rooms are reserved for DVC guests or those renting DVC points, and DVC members often get perks regular guests miss out on. If you’ve been thinking about joining the DVC program, stop by their NEW information location in Disney Springs!
Located in the Town Center section of Disney Springs, you’ll find the new Disney Vacation Club Welcome Center. It’s close to the Guest Relations building and is officially called Gateway to Discovery.
Inside, you’ll find posters talking about all things DVC, as well as some digital screens that look like a door, but they’ll open up and show you different resorts you can experience as a member. Pretty clever, eh? We like what you’re doing there, Disney!
Even if you’re not planning to become a DVC member, these screens are pretty cool, so you may want to pop in and check them out!
Or take a photo with this MASSIVE Mickey on the other side of the building! He’s ginormous but SO adorable, and we want allllll the photos with him.
At the back of the building, you’ll find a desk with Disney Vacation Club Cast Members ready to answer any questions you may have. It’s a great way to hear more about the program and see if it would be a good fit for you. Oh, and don’t forget; Disney announced that soon, a space on the second floor will open for DVC members and guests to gather. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for more information, but so far, all we know is that it will open “later this spring.”

I feel Disney should have continued to offer the Magical Express transportation from the Orlando Airport to the DVC Hotels as part of their membership perk! Let’s face it. We spent thousands upon thousands of dollars up front to buy our points but all those other offers that are available for non DVC members such as discounted/free dining packages , discounted park tickets if you book certain time frames, discounted rooms, etc. I feel like DVC members miss out.
