Whoever said you can’t have two best friends (or favorite Disney World treats) at the same time is lying to you.

An oldie… but still a goodie?

We’ve got an affinity for scoping out the best sweet treats in EPCOT which has led us to some stellar snack options and a few we really enjoy that change seasonally. However, on a recent trip to EPCOT, we were shocked to see an old friend return to the menu and instantly, the assignment was clear.

It’s no secret that Karamell-Küche holds a special place in our hearts for some of the best treats in all of EPCOT (or even Disney World itself for that matter), so imagine our surprise when we saw an old favorite had returned to the menu recently!

If you ever find yourself wandering EPCOT’s World Showcase (and more specifically by the Germany pavilion), pay a visit to Karamell-Küche. Chances are you’ll smell its delectable treats well before you spot it, but be warned. This place is known to attract some LONG lines throughout the day!

All the caramel concoctions

This snack stop is known to serve concoctions that all feature Werther’s Original Caramel, and just knowing that is enough to make us stop every time we’re in EPCOT. So when we recently popped in (for our standing appointment) for a sweet treat, we were shocked to see an old favorite had finally returned to the menu! We decided to snag one for ourselves immediately and see if it was just as good as we remembered it to be.

The Werther’s Original Caramel Chocolate Cookie Sandwich is made of two soft chocolate cookies sandwiched with Werther’s Original Caramel and salted caramel buttercream frosting for $7.29.

At first glance, this looks to be the marshmallow and caramel whoopie pie, but how did it fare in taste?

Well, as good as it looks! It’s almost like a big kid’s Oreo with creamy caramel. We totally would have welcomed even more of the caramel drizzle in the center with the salted caramel buttercream frosting, though. The salted caramel buttercream frosting was enough to stand on its own and eat by itself, and it even held up well against the sunshine and the heat of the day for quite a while.

The chocolate cake pieces that make up the sandwich are dense, decadent, and chocolatey. It tasted just like two pieces of chocolate-flavored birthday cake with the same consistency.

Just a bite

Overall we’re happy to report this is still a divine treat that will take you on a salted caramel and chocolatey flavor overload when you take each bite! So the next time you stop by Karamell-Küche and are finding it hard to decide which treat to try, this one is for you.
