One of the biggest Disney World tips we give for longer trips is to take a rest and have a resort day.

Not only do Disney World hotels have amazing pools and incredible theming to explore (especially at those value resorts), but there are also tons of FREE activities you and your family can have tons of fun with!

There no-cost activities that the whole family can take part in at all Disney World hotels, and you can see what they are each day by asking the front desk, or checking out the signs by the pools.

Now, some of these offerings will say they’re an additional cost, but we promise, the free options ARE there! Cast Members will often play games by the family pools (dance parties, trivia, etc.), but that’s not where the free activities end!

Sometimes you’ll find free scavenger hunts at select hotels, and they’ll take you all around the resort. It’s a great way to explore and see sections of the hotel you otherwise may walk right by!

You’ll also be able to find crafts happening around the pools on certain days. Some of these are an extra cost, but others can be done for the wonderful price of $0. Just be sure to pay attention to the little sign on the table before you start!

And lastly, one of our favorite pastimes is watching Disney movies under the stars! Weather permitting, these happen nearly every night, and different movies show throughout the week. This way, if you/your kids kids aren’t fans of spending nights in the parks, you can head back to your hotel and unwind while still basking in the Disney magic.
