We’re back to talk about shoes…again. Why? Well, when it comes to visiting Disney World, the shoes you wear could literally make or break your trip.
Here’s the deal: you’re going to walk MILES at Disney World without even realizing it. You’ll also be walking on concrete, which can be harsh on the body. So wearing the right shoe is a MUST. So you might be wondering: what’s the right shoe for me? Well, we know two brands are recommended more than any other: Hoka and On Cloud. But which is better?
Both brands can be bought on Amazon. Don’t have Amazon Prime? You can sign up for a free trial below!
We’re going to tell you right now that the DFB team has a preferred shoe, but we’ll get to that in a bit. Let’s take a look at On Cloud 5 sneakers.
Get the On Women’s Cloud 5 Sneakers
One thing that makes these shoes better than Hoka is that the profile is a lot lower and many folks prefer that. These particular sneakers also are highly rated and reviewed on Amazon, so a lot of people love them. They even have a removable insole plus they’re super lightweight. These also come in a wide variety of styles and colors so you can match them to your outfits.
We do have a word of warning, though. One of our team members had to buy new inserts for these sneakers after about a year AND they ended up with small holes in them. You may get more mileage on them, depending, but we needed to share that with you.

Our team had a clear winner when comparing the two shoes. Although Hoka does have a higher profile (they’re a bit chunky), our team loves these for their comfort and cushion. That’s coming from folks who have been Cast Members and long distance runners.
Our team also said they’re better at giving you stability, as well as keeping all your joints aligned while you walk, so they don’t just keep your feet comfy, but also protect your joints. There’s a reason why these shoes are so popular! These don’t come in as many colors and styles, but you’ll still find some variety to choose from.
Of course, every foot is different and what works for us might not work for you and vice versa. Both of these shoe brands are going to keep your feet nice and comfy, so it comes down to what style and features you’re looking for in a shoe.
Stay tuned to DFB for more!

I strongly recommend the Hoka Bondi 8 women’s shoe. I use both the Bondi and the Stinson.
