We don’t care what folks say, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of our favorite parks at Disney World — and we’re going to tell you why.
First off, we could go on and on about all the amazing food you can get here, like Cheeseburger Pods, those delicious seasoned fries, and SO much more. But we also love Animal Kingdom because it’s home to SO many different animals, including animals that are born RIGHT THERE. So we’re super excited that a new baby bird has come into the world right there in Animal Kingdom.
A new Abdim’s stork chick was recently born in Animal Kingdom and is now calling DinoLand, U.S.A. its new home. Okay, we won’t get into how sad that is, considering DinoLand is likely going away (how could you, Disney?! 😭), but we’re hoping that the baby bird gets to stay put during the re-theming. If we know anything about Disney, we have faith that this sweet lil baby will be safe and sound, no matter what happens to DinoLand. Anyway, here it is with Mama Stork, and isn’t it so sweet?
According to Dr. Mark Penning, who works at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Abdim’s storks like to make their nests of sticks in rocky areas.
Adult Abdim’s storks have black feathers, a blue face, and a red patch near each of their eyes. As you can see, this baby hasn’t quite yet grown into its colors, but it will! OK, so listen. We know it’s rude to comment on another person’s baby, but can we talk about how this baby bird looks like a real dinosaur?! If we told you this guy was a dinosaur, you’d believe us, right? (For the record, it’s not. But look at that face and tell us you can’t imagine a T-Rex roaming around nearby!)
You may be able to see this baby in DinoLand, so keep an eye out!
In the meantime, we’re still waiting to learn more about Disney’s new plans for Animal Kingdom.

According to Wikipedia birds are dinosaurs, so as long as there’s birds at AK Dinoland will live!
