Having a well-organized hotel room can be the key to a PERFECT Disney vacation.
Let’s face it, a trip to Walt Disney World can be a bit overwhelming even for the most seasoned visitors. Between keeping track of Genie+ times and Lightning Lanes, dining reservations, and refurbishment calendars, it can all be a little much. A Disney World hotel room can often be a sanctuary from all this, a spot to rest and recharge before tackling the parks each day. However, that only works if your room is well organized and looks like this.
First off, let’s tackle luggage. There’s no reason to take everything out of your suitcase and spread it around the hotel room. Instead, keep your suitcase organized by daily outfit – we’d recommend using compression packing cubes to organize these outfits and save real estate in your suitcase – and only pull out the following day’s outfit the night before. We’d also recommend laying it out over one of the room’s chairs so it’s fresh and ready in the morning.
However, clean clothes aren’t the only wardrobe pieces that can clutter up a hotel room. Throw a foldable hamper into your suitcase. That way you can keep all of dirty laundry in one space, making it easier to pack later.
Complete your outfit planning by laying out each of your shoe options near the hotel room door, that way you can go with a sensible choice based on the weather, how your feet are feeling, etc., in the morning. Remember, a sensible pair of sneakers is a MUST for Disney World. We actually recommend bringing two or more pairs of good walking shoes — unexpected rain does happen in Florida, and your favorite pair could be too we to wear some days.
Next up, there’s your nightstand. Once again, avoiding clutter here makes everything smoother. If you’re an Apple user, bringing a 3-in-1 charging station will allow you to juice up your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all at once with a minimum of wires. You should also pack a small, flat power strip with USB ports to plug in both the aforementioned charging station and charge your MagicBand+, using the charger that came with the band. This way, all of your electronic devices are ready for a full park day.
We’ve talked a lot about getting ready in the morning, but it should go without saying that a key component of a successful Disney day is a good night’s sleep in your hotel room the night before. If you often find yourself having trouble catching some zzzz’s, we’d recommend packing a white noise machine for your nightstand that will help lull you to sleep using soothing sounds and lights.
Finally, we’d recommend having your park day essentials – wallet, cap or hat, sunglasses, suntan lotion, portable charger, poncho, extra shirt, medications, and etc. – packed the night before in a backpack or bag. We’d recommend an adorable Disney Loungefly because aesthetically they’re perfect for a park day and functionally fit anything you need, though any kind of pack works. Either way, having this packed and ready cuts down on the clutter of your hotel room makes leaving in the morning a breeze as opposed to a hectic struggle to remember if you’ve packed everything you could need.
Keeping a clutter-free Disney hotel room where everything you’ll need the next morning is organized and ready is a a great way to cut down on the potentially hectic nature of a Disney vacation and a surefire sign of an expert Disney traveler. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney tips.
