Fortunately, accidents don’t happen often in Universal and Disney theme parks.
Theme parks typically have enough safety protocols in place to prevent incidents from occurring. However, they do happen from time to time. And the most recent one happened at Universal Studios Hollywood just last night.
According to KTLA, 15 people were injured in a tram crash at Universal Studios Hollywood on the night of April 20th. Authorities responded to the park around 9:13PM, and while most were found with minor injuries, one person was found to have critical injuries. All those affected were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The tram involved was part of The Studio Tour, a popular attraction that takes guests around the backlot of the studio to see some of the most iconic film sets in Hollywood history. The ride debuted in 1964, meaning this year is its 60th Anniversary.
A Universal spokesperson responded to the incident saying, “‘There was a tram incident at the theme park tonight that resulted in multiple minor injuries, confirmed by the LA County Fire Dept. We are working to support our guests and understand the circumstances that led to the accident.'”
At this time, there is still no answer as to what caused the accident, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB!
