Do you know where you’ll be in the summer of 2045? Maybe you SHOULD…
There’s a lot of planning ahead that goes into a Walt Disney World vacation. Dining reservations, Lightning Lane strategies, making must-ride lists, planning out which merchandise to be on the lookout for, etc. However, the potential planning ahead we’re talking about today goes a wee bit further out than that.
On August 12th of 2045, a total solar eclipse will occur, and be visible in across a wide swath of the United States, with areas totality in parts of California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. One of those areas of totality in Florida? Orlando.
So in other words, if you’ve ever wanted to experience a total eclipse in Disney World, you now know the exact date you’ll need to be there.
Don’t fret if you don’t think you’ll be in Orlando, though. The eclipse’s path of totality will pass over several other major American cities including Reno, Salt Lake City, Colorado Springs, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami, as well as international locations including parts of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, and Brazil.
While 2045 may be a bit too far to actually start booking anything, we’re not entirely joking about planning ahead. Many hotels in areas of totality sell out years before a solar event. Stay tuned for DFB for more out of this world Disney news!
