Are you getting as excited about Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe as we are?
We’re starting to learn so much about the five themed lands coming to the new theme park! We recently learned some fun new details about Super Nintendo World and the Isle of Berk (which is inspired by How To Train Your Dragon). We have a lot of details about the new park’s entrance area, Celestial Park, too. We’re also super stoked to learn more about Dark Universe, but for now, we have NEW construction photos of its roller coaster, Curse of the Werewolf.
So, what we currently know about Dark Universe is that it will be themed around Universal’s classic monsters, like Dracula, the Mummy, and more. It will be “a world where Universal’s classic monsters are reimagined in an OMINOUS and CHILLING experience.” Okay, that already sounds pretty amazing, right? Universal hasn’t shared specific details about the land yet, but here’s a look at the concept art of the portal that will lead into the land. SpoooOOOky, eh?
Universal hasn’t confirmed the rides that will be featured in this land, but we’ve seen some construction on a roller coaster fans are speculating will be “Curse of the Werewolf.” Now, we’ve got brand-new aerial photos, thanks to @bioreconstruct, showing the latest progress on that ride. For starters, we can now see that the queue for the ride is filled with trees.

We can also see that there’s a gateway in the queue in the following aerial photo.

Another photo shows the area next to the ride, but you can also see part of the ride’s track.

Another photo shows off the ride’s barn-door theming, which will be the mid-course shuttle launch. Wait…does that mean this roller coaster could have TWO launches…interesting!

So far, this roller coaster sounds like it might be a little scary but also super thrilling. We can’t wait to learn more. We hope we’ll be getting more details about Dark Universe from Universal Orlando soon, and we can’t wait to visit Epic Universe in 2025 (which still feels like it’s SO far away).
Stay tuned to DFB for more!
