FINALLY! We’ve been WAITING for this super important beignet announcement, and now that it’s been confirmed, we can rest easy.
You might think we’re being sarcastic there, but seriously, the question of whether or not beignets would be available in Magic Kingdom once Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens has been keeping us up at night. You CAN’T have a ride all about Tiana and NOT bring her famous beignets to the parks, right? Luckily, Disney agreed with us and now we have ALL the beignet details!
Disney has announced that Tiana’s Famous Beignets will be available in Magic Kingdom starting on the opening day of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (June 28th). The beignets will be served at Golden Oak Outpost and The Friar’s Nook.
Based on the picture, it looks like these will be big, fluffy beignets coated in powdered sugar — just the way we like ’em. Disney said these are “light, sweet and fluffy beignets drizzled with honey and powdered sugar.”
These look different from the other beignets that have been available in Magic Kingdom recently for the Celebrate Soulfully event.
Those other ones were more like little croissants than beignets. We’ll have to wait and try these out for ourselves when they arrive, though! You can bet we’ll be there to taste ’em as soon as they come out, and we’ll bring you a full review the same day.
The new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride will pick up the story of The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss,” and visitors will get to “join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”
As Tiana is preparing for the big event, she realizes that she’s missing an important ingredient, so she needs our help to go on an adventure to find it! Could that ingredient be BEIGNETS? (Probably not, but we hope it is.)
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be part of Disney Genie+ (not an Individual Lightning Lane). The ride will utilize a virtual queue for at least a little while once it opens. It sounds like Disney isn’t planning on that virtual queue to stick around long, and it’ll swap to a normal standby line a little while after the opening.
We can’t wait to go down the bayou with Tiana and her friends. If you’re excited, too, make sure to check out our Tiana’s Bayou Adventure tee in our online DFB store!
We’ve also got a Splash Mountain Farewell Tour t-shirt.
In fact, we have a whole collection of Disney shirts — be sure to check them out before your next Disney World trip!

Will there be gluten free Beignets too?

We need more rides..not upgraded or new themed rides..It’s like putting me on a repainted swing set..Same ride..just a different color
DFB Gigi says
Hi Laura! We don’t have that info at this time, but we’ll keep an eye out!
Lucretia Kleinman says
It’s nice to have a new theme to the ride, but I am envious of Tokyo Disney! Don’t make us the stepchildren.
Bernadette says
Oh how I wished they had redesigned the ride vehicle – I have 2 bad knees & can’t even begin to get into that log – stopped riding Splash Mountain & Space mountain years ago because of the ride vehicle.

I’m waiting for the day when Disney World opens a full service “Tiana’s Palace” restaurant with creole and soul food all over the menu! That’s the obvious next step. I’m wishing on a star, “Please, please, please, please, please!”

My family is a big fan of the DFB videos! Do you know if the vegan beignets are being offered at Golden Oak Outpost or Friar’s Nook?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Taylor! I had one of our reporters ask about the beignets for you and they said that the beignets have both gluten and dairy and will not be made in any other forms at this time.
