Thinking about hitting up Disney World soon? Consider this your official heads-up: it might be a wild ride before you even get to the rides.
When planning a Walt Disney World trip, we know how important it is to prepare ahead of time for the big crowds that await you. But aside from holidays, you may not account for special events, and that could totally throw off your plans that were curated based on your crowd expectations of the day. That’s why we have you covered because we have the heads up about an event happening soon!
On May 25th through May 27th, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is hosting the 2024 Disney Memorial Day Soccer Tournament. As with any sports event at the resort, most participants and their families flock to the parks afterward, leading to increased wait times and larger crowds. Did we also mention that it’s Memorial Day Weekend? Yeah, it’s definitely going to be pretty busy.
We know you might be feeling a little nervous if you have plans to visit on those days, but worry not! Your trusted besties here at DFB are here to help you manage and, most importantly, enjoy your trip no matter the crowd levels (I mean, that’s what we’re here for!). We have all the best tips and tricks—from Genie+ recommendations to the best arrival times, and even the top spots for a meal when advanced dining reservations are no longer an option.

Do you know where we could find the tournament schedule to know when they’ll be at the games and when they’re over? I’m assuming make the most of the mornings in the park and be ready to stack evening genie+ rides.

Yes we are arriving in the Disney bubble on Tuesday May 28 for 9 days. This will be our first foray into using Genie + and Lightning Lanes, but luckily I have studied up on the DFB youtube channel for all the latest info on how it’s done in 2024.
