Character changes have come to Animal Kingdom.Â
While most Disney fans are thinking about the MAJOR changes that are possibly coming to Animal Kingdom, several smaller changes in the park are currently changing the day to day experience for guests. For example, we’ve confirmed that the flotillas that carried characters up and down the park’s Discovery River over the last several years have been retired, and a slew of new meet & greets have arrived in their place, including one with a much in-demand character.Â
After 4 years away, Pocahontas has returned to her pre-pandemic meet and greet location near the Oasis. The character is currently meeting numerous times a day, with her schedule this week being appearances at 9:15, 10:15, 11:20, 12:15, 2:00, 3:05, 4:00.
If the crowds are any indication, Pocahontas’s return is going to be a smashing success.Â
Pocahontas isn’t the only formerly flotilla character to have a newly added meet & greet, as Goofy and Pluto now appear near Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures.

However, there are several former flotilla characters who are no longer appearing anywhere in the park, including Meeko, Rafiki, Timon, Launchpad McQuack, and Scrooge McDuck.
As Animal Kingdom embarks on an era of seemingly huge change, these small changes can sometimes go unnoticed, but they can make a big difference in your Disney day! Stay tuned to DFB for more Animal Kingdom news.Â
