If there’s one thing we love, it’s a hidden detail in Disney World!
Searching for everything from hidden Mickeys to Imagineering nods around the parks is so much fun, especially as you gain more knowledge about Disney and its background. Then sharing those secrets with your family and friends makes the process even more exciting! But sometimes, there are little details that we don’t always understand, but we love to find them anyway. Like Magic Kingdom’s collection of tiny doors!
Have you ever noticed that Magic Kingdom has a vast collection of tiny hidden doors? No? Well, we’re about to enlighten you! We’ve been spotting them all over the park for the past several years, and today we’re sharing the list.
To start out, we’ve got this regal-looking door hidden in the wall surrounding Cinderella Castle. It looks as though it has been specially designed to fit in with the castle architecture. It has a lock with a spot for a key, so it’s likely an access door for something like plumbing or electrical, or a storage area.
Perhaps the most iconic tiny door is this wooden one behind Bonjour Village Gifts! It’s tucked away in the bathroom area by Gaston’s Tavern and it fits the classic fairytale design of the area with its rough-hewn wood and rusted lock.
This door actually went viral on TikTok a few years ago, with many wondering why it was there. One popular theory is that it’s the result of a calculation error — the manhole below was placed too close to the wall, so they needed a break in the wall to fit the rest of it. Thus, a door was added. Disney hasn’t confirmed or denied this theory, but it’s a fun one to think about!
For our next tiny door, we’re heading across the park to Frontierland! You actually have to get in a ride queue to spot this one — it’s located on the second floor of the Frontierland Train Station in the room with the benches.
It has a really unique design, with extra wooden detail and a little latch that isn’t even locked! This one is a little bit baffling — it may hide some utility access points or it might just be for fun decoration.
Our next door actually has a theme for it! Located on the side of the new Critter Co-Op gift shop, this door was originally themed to Br’er Rabbit’s home back when Splash Mountain was still around. Now, the mailbox out front has been painted to say “Lari,” which is one of the characters introduced for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
And last but not least, we’ve got to honor one of Disney’s tiniest characters! With the addition of Smellephants on Parade in Magic Kingdom, Disney added a tiny door to the new ticket booth in front of Big Top Treats. It has Timothy Q. Mouse’s profile on it, so we can only assume it’s made for him! Make sure to look out for it the next time you’re in the park.
That’s a wrap on the tiny doors in Magic Kingdom! We’ll be on the lookout for more hidden details to share with you, so stay tuned to DFB.

Dang, if only this column had come out during my trip a week back, lol. I’d have gone to see some of these! I mostly notice the one way on the moat side of Cinderella Castle.
