If you love Disney, country music, and some Country BEARS, you’re gonna want to listen up!
Country Bear Jamboree
Country Bear Jamboree was one of the opening day attractions at Magic Kingdom, opening alongside the park on October 1st, 1971. Last year, Disney announced that the attraction would be closing to make room for a new, updated version of the show. The original Country Bear Jamboree gave its final performances on January 26th, 2024. The new version of Country Bear Jamboree, the Country Bear Musical Jamboree, is set to debut in Summer 2024. While we don’t know exactly what the refreshed show will look like yet, other than that the bears will sing classic Disney songs in new styles like country, rockabilly, and bluegrass. We also just got a sneak peek of some of the bears’ COSTUMES!
Disney just shared a new look of the costuming process behind making sure the country bears look show ready. In the video, we even get a sneak peek at Bunny, Bubbles, and Beulah in gorgeous new pink costumes.

The refreshed attraction will be a take on classic variety shows found in Nashville, Tennessee, and Nashville musicians are involved in the new arrangements. As a Tennesseean myself, I can’t help but note that these costumes are pretty darn spectacular. Like, Dolly Parton? Kacey Musgraves? They would totally approve.

Previously, the ladies wore blue — so this is a pretty massive change. We love that these are more modern and fit the country vibe so much more.
A big change!
What might be even MORE spectacular is all the hard work that goes behind making sure the bears look amazing. The video shares that costuming for bears is a bit different than costuming for humans — bears and humans don’t move the same way. So, there are lots of buttons and snaps that have to be put on the costumes to ensure they stay where they’re meant to.

We also couldn’t believe how much love and care is put into each and every animatronic costume. Like, those rhinestones are being placed by hand!

I am looking forward to the new Country Bears Show. I just hope they retained the non-PC, “All the Guys Who Turn Me On, Turn Me Down,” number.
If you look at the original bears compared to the new refurbished ones, it looks like the all have new fur and new skin as well. They look fantastic. And I greatly appreciate that they refurbished this attraction and did not knock it down and replace it with something different! Kudos to Disney!
