Things are about to get VERY busy in Disney World, but that’s not a BIG surprise.
However, if you’ve never visited Disney World over a holiday weekend, you could be a little shocked by the crowds. Memorial Day brings in quite a few people, PLUS the Disney Memorial Day Soccer Tournament brings in even MORE people, so you need to be prepared before you step foot in the parks. You’ll also notice that the price of Genie+ will rise when Disney World expects crowds, and we’ve already seen Genie+ jump up in price as of today.
As of May 24th, Genie+ prices are the highest we’ve seen since the beginning of the month (since May 4th, to be exact). Today, you’ll pay $29 for Genie+ for multiple parks, $29 for Magic Kingdom, $21 for EPCOT, $26 for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and $18 for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Note that the price of Genie+ changes, depending on demand. So when there’s more demand for the service (for example, on busy days), the price of Genie+ goes up. It’s also likely that we’ll see this price get even higher before the end of the holiday weekend. However, when Disney World is super busy, we recommend getting Genie+ if you don’t want to stand in long standby lines, particularly for the more popular rides.
Note that we also see slight price increases for those rides not included with Genie+, but that offer the Individual Lightning Lane option instead. Today, those prices are as follows:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom: $12
- Tron Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom: $20
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind: $17 (Sold Out)
- Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios: $25
- Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom: $16 (Sold Out)
Those that aren’t already sold out could sell out quickly, though. Your best bet to take advantage of Genie+ on a busy weekend is to purchase it at midnight for the park(s) you wish to visit. You’ll be able to make Lightning Lane choices at 7AM, as well as book virtual queues or buy Individual Lightning Lanes. You will also have a second opportunity to book virtual queues for those rides that offer them (Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tron Lightcycle / Run) at 1PM.
So if you are headed to the parks this weekend, pack your patience and expect to spend a little extra on Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes. We’ll be keeping an eye on the crowds at the parks, so follow along with DFB to know what to expect.

When I was in the parks in April I was paying over $30 a day because taxes are applied when I purchased Disney genie plus.
