Big changes are coming to Disney World!
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
With the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the reimagining of Country Bear Jamboree, and several hotel updates on the horizon, there are going to be quite a few new things to explore in Disney World soon. But here at DFB, you know we get extra excited about new restaurants…and one is coming soon to Disney’s BoardWalk!
The Cake Bake Shop has been under construction for a while now, and progress has been a bit slow-going. However, during a recent visit to the BoardWalk, we spotted a HUGE update!
Signs are up!
Do you see it? Yep, the restaurant now has SIGNS up. The restaurant’s logo is designed in gold on a white background. Faaaancy!

We spotted two large signs on either end of the building. They don’t look to be complete just yet, surrounded by unfinished supports. Based on the holes above the signs, we’re wondering if Disney will add lights to illuminate the lettering at night.

The Cake Bake Shop was originally slated to open in 2023, but in September, its opening was delayed to “early 2024.” We’re probably past that point now, so we’ve got our fingers crossed that it opens sometime this year. The building will have two separate components — The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant and The Cake Bake Shop Bakery.

This new Table Service restaurant will serve items for brunch, lunch, and dinner featuring both sweet and savory menus. Afternoon tea service will be offered as well! Disney notes that the new eatery will present a “whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk that guests know and love.” The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant will also include a new Champagne Bar.

Don’t want to sit down and eat for a while? No worries! In The Cake Bake Shop Bakery, you’ll find a bakery case filled to the brim with lots of goodies including — but not limited to — cheesecakes, cookies, pies, macarons, croissants, and dessert bars. Coffee drinks will also be available.
