What’s better than a Disney dessert? A Disney dessert paying homage to a classic Disney ride, of course!
Matterhorn Bobsleds is known as the first tubular steel track roller coaster and has been an absolute icon at Disneyland Park since it opened in 1959. Now celebrating its 65th anniversary, this major Disney landmark has stood the test of time through all kinds of expansion and Resort changes. In honor of the attraction’s longevity and importance in Disneyland’s history, Disney is offering a new Matterhorn-themed dessert!
Starting June 1st, 2024, Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel is now selling the Coconut-Pineapple Dole Whip in a brand-new Matterhorn Bobsleds 65th Anniversary souvenir cup!
The dessert costs $9.50Â and can be purchased at Trader Sam’s or its drink window. The ingredients for this new Dole Whip include pineapple Dole Whip and coconut shavings.Â
As for taste, we’ve had this Dole Whip before and still find it to be a very refreshing and tropical-flavored snack. Not too different than Disney’s normal pineapple Dole Whip, save the hints of coconut from the shavings, this isn’t a snack that is exclusive to Trader Sam’s — you can literally pick this up at Disneyland. The big difference here is the souvenir cup.
Speaking of the souvenir cup, this limited-time dessert is served in a plastic cup with the Matterhorn 65th anniversary, Disneyland Resort, and Trader Sam’s logos. Additionally, one side of the cup features an image of the Matterhorn and its infamous Abominable Snowman.
All in all, this is a really simple dessert in a souvenir cup that justifies the price. If you’re a HUGE Matterhorn fan, we definitely think you should head over to Trader Sam’s and pick one up!
