Something is almost ALWAYS under construction in Disney World.
We spent YEARS staring at construction walls in EPCOT (but most of those are gone now). There’s a ton of construction over at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, too, where two new restaurants will be opening soon. There’s been quite a bit of construction at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, including at one of its stores, M. Mouse Mercantile, which closed temporarily. Now, that store has reopened with a brand-new look.
Yes, that’s right. M. Mouse Mercantile has reopened, and it looks a LOT different. Let’s head on over and see what’s changed about the store.
Here’s what the store looked like before it temporarily closed.
As you can see, it got a complete upgrade. The carpet is gone and has been replaced by a tile floor. There’s also hardwood floor edging around the new floor. You’ll also notice that the columns have been painted mint green.
Here’s a closer look at that new flooring — there are hidden Mickeys throughout.
There’s also a new floral chandelier above the store now that adds an elegant touch.
Here’s what the counter looked like before.
Here’s what it looks like now. That mint green color has been carried throughout the shop. There’s also new artwork behind the cashiers, featuring Mickey and Minnie in front of the Grand Floridian — so pretty! The entire area has been refined and cleaned out a bit, so it doesn’t look as busy.
The store’s interior has also been reorganized so it looks more modern and sleek. The flooring here looks like marble.
There’s a pretty floral wallpaper on several elements, too.
Here’s a closer look at that new wallpaper.
We also love these new figures of Mickey and Minnie that are on display. Very elegant and fashionable!
Be sure to pop into the store the next time you visit the Grand Floridian — it’s looking VERY different now. And stay tuned to DFB for more.

We were just at the Grand Floridian and were able to see the changes. Beautiful! By the way, we also tried the cheeseburger spring rolls in Adventureland and the cheeseburger pods in Pandora. They were so delicious! Thank you for the tip!
