One of the best parts of visiting Disney World is meeting characters!
We always have so much fun interacting with the characters, whether that be during character dining experiences or at their official meet-and-greet spots in the parks. We’ve even collected character autographs on birthday cards and water bottles (which we think is genius, by the way). Now, though, we spotted a NEW character joining an existing meet and greet and WE ARE SO EXCITED. Could this be a permanent change, or was it a one-day surprise? We’re keeping our fingers crossed this new friend is here to stay!
Last year, Winnie the Pooh, a.k.a. the Silly Old Bear, returned to his pre-2020 meet-and-greet spot in Christopher Robin’s bedroom in the U.K. Pavilion. He’s been meeting Disney World visitors there since then. Previously, you could only see Pooh from a distance in EPCOT while he caught butterflies and waved from afar.
We were visiting the U.K. Pavilion recently and snuck a quick peek into Christopher Robin’s bedroom, and saw a very familiar pink figure with a striped shirt. Yes! Piglet was meeting folks with Pooh at this spot.
Note that if you look in the My Disney Experience app, you’ll only see that Pooh is listed at this meet-and-greet location, so Piglet might not be there regularly like Pooh, or this could have been even a one-time occurrence. We occasionally see rare characters pop up around the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT, too.
You can also meet Alice at the U.K. Pavilion — and even Mary Poppins pops in (see what we did there?) to say hello sometimes. For a full list of characters that meet in EPCOT, go to the My Disney Experience app, click on the location button at the bottom, choose filter at the top and click on “EPCOT” and hit “Apply.” Then you’ll see the full list of character meet and greets on the EPCOT map — you can also choose “Show List” to show the full list of characters. Click on each one to see their meeting times.

And here I was all excited that it was the Cheshire Cat… Only to find out it’s Piglet.

Yeah! We were there last Easter (2023) and will be back November. Can’t wait for my kids to finally meet Pooh and Piglet (I don’t think they have ever eaten at Crystal Palace). I call our 2-year old granddaughter Piglet so getting a picture with him to show her would be so great!
