This weekend, Disney hosted the massive D23 Ultimate Fan Event in Anaheim, California. The sprawling convention broke news from across Disney’s spectrum of offerings, including films, television streaming, video games, and parks.
The announcements start coming, and they don’t stop coming — especially at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event! We’ve been taking in all the news, and it doesn’t look like we’ll be stopping anytime soon, either, because Disney just revealed more details about the Pirates of the Caribbean lounge coming to Magic Kingdom!

At last year’s D23 event, Disney announced that a NEW tavern would be coming to Adventureland in Magic Kingdom. Look out for a new pirate-themed area where guests of all ages can tell their tales from land and sea! Disney explained, “This first-of-its-kind experience will extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.”

Now Disney has released more details about the lounge, including its opening timeframe! According to the company, this “rambunctious watering hole will offer a welcoming haven for all pirate-kind, big and small, and everyone in between.” That means this lounge will NOT be reserved for adults only. Disney teased a selection of “grogs and grub,” so it sounds like we could get some PIRATE FOOD! The lounge is scheduled to open in 2025.

The concept art shows a variety of tables and chairs, with a dramatic anchor centerpiece on the ceiling. Oh, and we spy the classic Pirates of the Caribbean Barker Bird there, too!

Well, now my clever plan of one-and-done for dressing up like pirates for the NSSHP is not just in the past but history. How am I supposed to resist getting to dress up like a pirate and go to a real POTC lounge. I can hear my wallet crying.
Looks great! Do we know if it will be a real lounge and serve alcohol or more like Gaston’s Tavern?
I think in a previous post you said where the new Pirates Lounge would be located but can’t find it. Am making plans on going to WDW next year and wanted to add this to my list of to do’s. Any idea where it’s going to be?
