RED ALERT! We have MASSIVE news, people!
We’ve been attending D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this weekend and have been getting all the news about what Disney has in the plans for their theme parks, film and television programming, and beyond. We’ve been waiting for MONTHS to hear more about the DinoLand, U.S.A. re-theming into the Tropical Americas, and now it’s finally here!
The last news we heard was at the 2023 D23 Expo where Disney announced the project, saying that new experiences inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones were coming to the new land, which would take the place of DinoLand, U.S.A.
Imagineers are also taking inspiration from some of the most biodiverse areas on Earth, the Tropical Americas — the regions just north and south of the equator, the Western Hemisphere, including the northern part of South America, and stretching up into Central America.
It was shared that Imagineers were on a research trip to Mexico to get inspiration for the new area. But now Disney has confirmed that the new land will feature Encanto! There will be an all-new ride that features the Madrigal family inside the Casita.
The ride begins just as Antonio has received his special gift and his room becomes a beautiful rainforest. You go explore with him, and according to Disney, “You never know what member of the family you might bump into…”
Construction on the new land will begin this fall and will open in 2027. The land will feature Encanto and Indiana Jones!

Disney revealed that the land will feel “lived in, with a long, rich history.” Oh, and good news, snack lovers — there will be a large hacienda with one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Disney World. Below, you can see the concept art for a new attraction! Per Disney, “a woodcarver has created a giant working carousel featuring his favorite animals from Disney stories.”
