BOO! Did we scare you? It’s hard to scare someone virtually, so maybe we should stick to what we’re good at enjoying Disney World treats! In fact, we’re reporting from Magic Kingdom’s FIRST Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the season, and you KNOW we’re trying all the best new treats.
Before we get snackin’, we should lay out the basics. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will run on select nights from August 9th through October 31st. There’s a LOT to do during the event, like meet characters, go trick-or-treating, and enjoy an exclusive nighttime parade. Speaking of party exclusives, Disney is also serving specialty food that’s ONLY available at the event. Wanna see what’s worth your time? Keep reading for a food review — Haunted Mansion edition.
First, we recommend you check out the FULL list of food that is available at the 2024 events. We’re trying practically ALL of the new food, so let’s get into it!
Photos AND Reviews: ALL the 2024 Fall and Halloween Treats in Disney World!
We headed over to Sleepy Hollow Refreshments to check out some NEW treats!
Over at Sleepy Hollow, we have this lineup:
😋Hand-dipped Corn Dog
🕯️Madame Leota Séance Candle
🧇Dulce de Leche, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Sauce Funnel Cake#MNSSHP pic.twitter.com/oXGrIcJ3qr— Disney Food Blog (@DisneyFoodBlog) August 10, 2024
This dining spot is located in Liberty Square, so it’s a fitting home for all the spooky new Haunted Mansion treats, like the Madame Leota Séance Candle. This is a push pop-style dessert with red velvet cake and cookies and cream mousse, available for $5.99.
This was very sugary and a little on the dry side. The mousse was very sweet and very whipped. As we pushed it up, it wanted to fall over, so you have to eat it very fast. The crunchy pearls in it were our favorite aspects of this dessert because they added some variety and texture to the one-note treat.
We also indulged in the new Dulce de Leche, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Sauce Funnel Cake, available for $8.99. Those are literally all of our favorite ingredients, so, yeah, we had high hopes.
The ice cream on top really helped to balance out all the rich flavors going on from the dulce de leche and peanut butter. The peanut butter overpowered the dulce de leche, which was pretty hidden in the dessert. The Snickers added a great crunch to the soft funnel cake. If you love peanut butter and chocolate, then you’ll likely really enjoy this. It was our favorite of the three things we tried at Sleepy Hollow!
If you’re looking for a savory option, you can also try the new Hand-dipped Corn Dog for $10.29. This one comes with spicy violet mustard and spicy cheese-flavored snacks. It looks weird, we’ll admit it, but it’s Halloween, and we’re feeling brave.
The chips on top of the corn dog were similar to spicy Dorito crumbles, and the violet mustard was spicy on its own, but when you put it with the sweet breading of the corn dog it’s not very spicy at all. There is a huge amount of hot dog inside! Overall, it was pretty good, but a little bit messy with the chips falling everywhere.
Nearby, you can find one more Haunted Mansion-inspired treat at the outdoor vending location near the Haunted Mansion. This is the Tombstone Tart, with an updated look for 2024! It’s $5.99 and is sweet sugar dough filled with cookies and cream cheese mousse and Halloween décor. This guy is available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ONLY!
This is kind of like a pop tart, but it was very dry and tasted unsweetened. It had an odd sticky texture, and the tombstone on top is printed on edible paper which just added to the strange texture. Unfortunately, our reporter didn’t have many good things to say about the tart. This wasn’t a favorite treat of ours, and don’t necessarily recommend it.
The Tombstone Tart is back at the ice cream cart next to the Haunted Mansion! It looks a lot different than last year! pic.twitter.com/3QmrmHUqvN
