We’ve known that Test Track would experience a MAJOR update for quite some time, and we may have cried bittersweet tears when the most recent version of the ride closed this summer.

However, while construction remains ongoing on the attraction in EPCOT, Disney has shared an update with us about what we can expect to see once it reopens!
We hope you’ve buckled up for this latest update on Disney World’s reimagined Test Track. Now, Disney has an anticipated reopening timeline of 2025.

The latest update came to us during Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, when Josh D’Amaro announced that Walt Disney Imagineering is collaborating with Chevrolet to embrace the spirit of innovation while celebrating a human “drive” for a brighter tomorrow. The updated version of the ride is anticipated to highlight the past, present, and future in its upcoming design. Disney confirmed the queue will feature six distinct exhibits, and within each room, celebrate the vehicles as well as the people behind the vehicles who usher in that next chapter in our collective journey.

Imagineers are adding new show scenes that will showcase technological advances and show “how our lifestyles and relationships to mobility connect everyone.” You will take a joy ride through scenes focusing on onboard technology, customization, and personalization, ending with a trip through a scenic outdoor route.
Test Track is CLOSED
Construction on this reimagined experience has already begun, if you look closely at Disney’s concept art, you’ll notice that the new building is reminiscent of the original pavilion design.

There are 12 months in 2025! Uugghh a date would be nice! We are going in January and it’s my son’s favorite ride. Don’t even know if it will be open.
I don’t know how anyone could have cried anything but tears of joy when 2.0 closed. The original version was superior with 2.0 being nothing but a cheap band-aid. The only reason why people ride it is because of the outdoor section. The original World of Motion was a great attraction and so much more entertaining that what Test Track has ever been. I look forward to the needed change.
I loved Horizons and look forward to this new reimagined ride. Will the name remain Test Tract or how about ‘HORIZON 2.0 ‘. Can’t wait but I agree with Disney mom an approximate opening date would be nice
I’m dreading this change. It’s going to be so boring. Don’t want to see all the stupid EVs that they are forcing on everyone.
I’d guess that when Disney announce a 2025 timeline then that would tend to indicate the last 4 months otherwise they’d say summer/spring etc
Were travelling from Wales and visiting in May 2025, I really hope its open by then! I also hope they improve the actual track itself as it was a bit boring in parts for how fast you should be going. I hope they dont just do a make over to the inside and leave the track as is
So cool that they will try to give us World of Motion vibes ! Are they going to take out the outdoor fast portion of the ride ?

We all loved the original World of Motion- the new building brought back so many memories: from our spontaneous singing
“It’s Fun to be Free” and the various scenes we described long after experiencing the ride….,
