Can you believe it’s almost 2025?
We know, we can’t believe it either! We’re just a few short months away from the new year, which means that your 2025 Disney World trip is getting closer and closer. We’re excited FOR you, but there are a few things you need to know if you’re staying on property, including NEW perks that hotel guests will get to experience that you need to know about!
FREE Water Park Entry On Day 1 of Your Visit
The most well-known new perk we’ve talked about a few times — on the first day of your visit, AKA your check-in day, you can recieve free admission to whichever of Disney’s water parks, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, is open at that time of year (for the past few years, they’ve been trading off which has been open each year while the other undergoes refurbishment)!
Currently, Typhoon Lagoon is open, and it traded places with Blizzard Beach in March 2024. This means that most likely, Blizzard Beach will reopen in/around March 2025. So if your trip lands before then (and it’s not too chilly), you’ll be able to experience Typhoon Lagoon. But if your trip lands around or after March 2025, you’ll most likely be able to experience Blizzard Beach with this perk.
This perk is ONLY available during the first day of your trip, so we recommend getting to your hotel and checking in as soon as you can on that first day so you can take advantage of as much water park time as possible! However, keep in mind that the water parks often close much earlier than Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, or Hollywood Studios, so you can finish up at the water park, change clothes, and head straight to one of the parks for more fun (IF you have a park ticket for the day), or you can head into Disney Springs!
Disney World’s New Hotel Perk Is About to Cause Chaos in 2025
A NEW Fireworks Viewing Spot
The other new perk was just announced recently, and has to do with the new expansion coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! The new Island Tower is a Disney Vacation Club hotel that’s set to open on December 17th, 2024. However, anyone is welcome to book a reservation here!
One of the new additions just announced for this hotel are the FOUR new Terrace Gardens, which are each uniquely themed and have plenty of seating to relax. You’ll look out onto Disney’s Oak Trail, Magnolia Golf Courses, or the Seven Seas Lagoon, which means that you’ll have a fantastic view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks each night!
Now, it’s likely that these areas will fill up pretty quickly when this perk gets out, so if you’re looking to grab a great spot, we suggest staking it out a little earlier in your trip and planning to get there around 15 minutes before to be sure you have a nice comfortable seat to watch the fireworks. Yes, it means you won’t be able to see the projections on Main Street U.S.A., but if you’re not a fan of crowds, it’s a great alternative!

I have a feeling the terraces at the new Polynesian tower will only be for guests of that hotel. Access is only available with your magicband or key card Otherwise I think the terraces would get overwhelmed with people and the guests who are paying a lot of money to stay there might not be able to utilize the terraces.
