As you’re enjoying the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival this year, you can stop by the UK Beer Cart for a festival-only drink!
The UK Beer Cart, located at Rose & Crown, is one of the of the permanent EPCOT locations that also join in on the festival fun with exclusive, limited-time drinks and snacks. Come with us to check out this year’s special item!
Menu
Over at UK Beer Cart, you’ll find a special festival-edition drink — a Strawberry Basil Cocktail for $17 made with Beefeater Pink Strawberry Gin, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, Seagram’s Ginger Ale, with strawberry and basil syrups. We have seen something similar at the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, but this is new for the Food & Wine Festival!
Drinks
We stopped by the Rose & Crown beer cart for the Strawberry Basil Cocktail, and WOW, we were surprised when we got it. Not in a good way, though — according to the photo, the drink is supposed to be frozen, like a slushy. However, ours was not frozen at all when we got it. When we spoke to a Cast Member, we were told that it was too hot outside for the drink to freeze, so it was served as just liquid without any ice.
The drink, therefore, wasn’t very cold at all, and we thought this story we were given was very interesting because there are many other places you can go in EPCOT where the drinks are frozen just fine, no matter the temperature. We were wondering if a new batch had just been put in and hadn’t had a chance to freeze yet, but regardless, we do think this drink would be made better by being frozen (or at least cold).
The taste itself was very sweet and strawberry-forward, although we didn’t taste the ginger in the ginger ale. We do warn you, too — we didn’t taste the alcohol at all, which means it could very easily sneak up on you!
OVERALL
For right now, we wouldn’t recommend this drink until Disney can work out the issues with having it frozen like it’s pictured to be. If you happen to walk by, though, and you see that it is successfully frozen and you’re a fan of strawberries, we highly recommend grabbing it!
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
