We’ve got big news for Disney World water park fans!
A huge hotel perk is in store for water parks in 2025, and we’ve even spotted some signs that Disney is hard at work getting things ready for the winter season. Yep, at least one Disney World water park stays open year-round, and in fact, Blizzard Beach is entirely winter-themed. This water park has been closed since March, but now we officially know when it will reopen!
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is reopening on November 4th!
And, since Disney has been only operating one water park at a time, this means that Typhoon Lagoon will be closing on November 3rd — so that’s your last day to be able to enjoy this park until they swap again!
If you’ve never experienced a Disney World water park before, next year will be a great time to check one out! Disney World has announced that in 2025, those staying at Disney Resorts (including DVC properties) will get a FREE park ticket to the water parks on their arrival day. You’ll be able to use this perk at either Blizzard Beach Water Park or Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and only on your check-in day.
Right now, this benefit is only available for those with check-in dates from January 1st to December 31st, 2025. Usage of the benefit is subject to availability and all visitors hoping to get into the water parks with complimentary admission MUST be listed on the hotel reservation.
And, Disney shared that while both water parks have annual refurbishments, they will continue to be staggered. The website says, “Guests should be able to enjoy at least one water park experience year-round.” Since the pandemic, the two water parks haven’t yet been open at the same time, with one closing as soon as the other opens.
We’ll catch you on the slides at Blizzard Beach on November 4th! In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more news!

First, thanks to Disney for their generosity! A free ticket is always appreciated. The downside is that my family would have to race to the park day of arrival or the ticket is voided. Why this stipulation? Also, staggering water parks is a downer. We’ve always had the choice and my family loved that. Now, it’s one and done. I see overcrowding when they were already inundated with mobs of people. At least if both water parks are open, it helps spread people out. I hope Disney rethinks both issues.

Disney really ought to rethink their only one waterpark open at a time policy for next year due to the new waterpark perk. I’m hoping Typhon is open for our trip in March, but if not it will be fine to finally check out Blizzard Beach.
