If you’ve been dreaming of naan and spices, this one is for you.
The 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has officially begun, and there is a lot to offer. There are plenty of food booths with tasty items, merchandise items to grab (of course), and even concerts to watch. But don’t let it overwhelm you. We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — the India Booth — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at the India Booth, you’ll find a handful of returning favorites: the Potato and Pea Samosa and the Chicken Tikka Masala and an assortment of tasty beverages.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, let’s dig into the Potato and Pea Samosa with Coriander-Lime Cream for $5.50. This item is returning and is a plant-based item, for any of you plant-based eaters out there! In 2022, we found this dish to be soggy due to its size, and it was very spicy. This year, it’s a DELIGHT, y’all. It’s got a light and flaky crust, and we love how the coriander-lime cream gives it a bit of tartness and makes it unique. Also, if you’re averse to peas, don’t fear them — there aren’t a lot in there, and most of what you get in each bite is potato.
Finally, we tried the Chicken Tikka Masala with Fennel-Spiced Yogurt and Naan Bread for $6.25. This item is returning, and we found that you got a large portion. Last year, we thought this was very salty and spicy. The chicken was tender, and the dish had a strong curry flavor overall. This delivered on flavor again this year. It’s a hearty plate with thick pieces of chicken, and honestly, you could probably make a meal out of it. Then there’s the Naan, which isn’t anything special, but it goes well with the chicken tikka masala.
Feeling a little parched? Let’s try some drinks now!
Drinks
In terms of drinks on this menu, we got Mango Lassi (non-alcoholic) for $5. This drink had a LOT of mango flavor and a pretty milky consistency. It sort of reminded us of a milkshake, but a little bit lighter than a normal, rich milkshake would be. Last year, it was one of our favorites. Let’s just say we’re still in love with it this year. It’s very mango-y (yes, that’s a word now), with chunks of mango in the bottom. YUM. It’s SO refreshing, too.
You can also get an alcoholic version of this, Mango Lassi with Somrus Chai Cream Liqueur, for $11.50.
The SULA Brut Tropicale Sparkling Wine is returning for $7.50. Last year, we tried it, and we found it to be really fun and refreshing! It was sweet but not sugary, and it had a very subtle fruitiness to it. It’s perfect for eating spicy food on a hot day!
The Taj Mahal Premium Lager is also returning this year and you can get it for $5.50 for 6 oz or $9.75 for 12 oz.
OVERALL
Overall, India delivers with both the food and drinks this year. Everything here is great. Do we think it’s the best of the best? Well, we’re not 100% sure, but it is going to end up close to the top of our list this year. This booth is about flavors, and in that respect, it does not disappoint. It’s why we keep going back year after year.
