Disneyland is undergoing some MASSIVE changes. There are so many that you might have trouble keeping up with them all. That’s why we’re here to help!
Not only is the first Coco-themed ride EVER coming to Disney California Adventure, but that park is also getting a brand-new Avatar-themed land (completely different from the one in Disney World, too!). Over in Disneyland, construction is well underway for a new queue and gift shop for Haunted Mansion, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is getting closer to completion ahead of its opening date in November. Well, now, we’ve noticed something NEW at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — and of course, we had to share!
Yes, that’s right, we’re watching Tiana’s Bayou Adventure construction very carefully and it looks like Disney has started putting some of the final touches on the ride. The first new thing we noticed was a NEW sign added to the entrance that says “A Celebration of Family and Friends of new Orleans,” which is the big party Tiana has invited us all to!
Speaking of new signs, the Main Entrance now has a sign! Look at that!
We also spotted ANOTHER new thing being added to the ride, and this one has us even more excited. It’s the wait times sign! Now, Disney hasn’t shared if this version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open with just a standby line and Lightning Lane…or if there will be a virtual queue INSTEAD of a standby line like we sometimes see with new rides in the parks.
We’re seeing Tiana’s Bayou Adventure getting closer and closer to completion, and it won’t be much longer until we have dates for ride previews. So exciting! However, if memory serves us correctly, when this ride was Splash Mountain, it produced WAY bigger splashes than the version in Disney World, so we wonder if that will be the same when it opens as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Anyway, we’d recommend bringing a poncho if you don’t want to get wet…just in case.
Also, don’t forget that Critter Country will become Bayou Country when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens — so it’s almost like a whole new land, especially with the nearby Hungry Bear Restaurant becoming Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree with an all-new menu coming soon, too!
