The waiting game is finally over!
This summer, Disney released two blockbuster films. In June, we got the sequel to the Disney and Pixar animated film Inside Out, Inside Out 2. In July, the Marvel film Deadpool and Wolverine hit theaters. While these films were only released a few months ago, many people wanted to know when they would be able to stream these movies from the comfort of their own homes.
While we speculated all summer, Inside Out 2 was confirmed to start streaming on Disney+ on September 25th, which is TODAY!
This film captured the hearts of audiences and broke many box office records, including becoming the highest-grossing animated movie ever made! As of September 2024, Inside Out 2 has made $1.677 billion worldwide, with $652.5 million in the United States and Canada and $1.024 billion in other territories, surpassing Frozen II as the top animated film ever!
If you have been waiting to see the film for the first time or for the 100th time, you can now do so since it is streaming on Disney+.
We have yet to hear a date from Disney about the release of Deadpool and Wolverine to Disney+, but we have a feeling that it could be part of the streaming service sooner rather than later.
Inside Out 2 was released on June 15th, and just three months later, it made its streaming debut. Deadpool and Wolverine premiered on July 26th. If it follows the three-month rule that Inside Out 2 did, we should hopefully see the film added to Disney+ in October. To reference another Marvel film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 came to theaters on May 5th, 2023, and was on Disney+ three months later on August 2nd.
We will continue to watch for news about Deadpool and Wolverine coming to Disney+, but for now, we will be celebrating the release of Inside Out 2 on the streaming platform!
