Hotels in Disney World are known for many things — their Disney magic, free transportation to and from the Disney parks, incredible theming, and so much more.
However, many families absolutely adore the pools at Disney World hotels and all the fun and relaxation they can offer. Some of the most iconic pools around the hotels are the Fuentes del Morro pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and while those are beautiful and bursting with fun, sometimes you want a quiet, relaxing time by the pool. Contrary to popular belief, those DO exist, and we’ve gotta talk about them.
Many guests only think Disney World hotels have the large, loud, crowded pools with heavy theming, but the truth is that all Disney World hotels have more than one hotel to hang out at. These smaller pools are called Leisure Pools, and they’re a game changer for people who just want to have a quieter day by the water.
Value hotels, Disney World’s most affordable hotels, only have 1-2 Leisure Pools per resort, but they do still exist! One of our favorites is the Cozy Cone Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. It’s located in the Cars section of the hotel, and you’ll also find a quiet pool located in the Little Mermaid section, plus the main pool (which is far from quiet) in the heart of the resort.
However, the quiet pools at the value resorts are more likely to be a little louder than those found at Disney World’s moderate and deluxe hotels, since these hotels have more quiet pools spread around the (usually larger) resorts and are often home to more families and large groups on vacations. Let’s take Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort for example — there’s one main pool located at the hotel, called Ol’ Man Island, but there are five Leisure Pools spread out around the rest of the hotel — 3 in Alligator Bayou and 2 in Magnolia Bend — which means that guests have a larger variety of pools to spread out, making them less crowded.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, another moderate hotel, also has 5 Leisure Pools, in addition to its main pool. They’re located in each village of the hotel, meaning that no matter where you’re staying, you’re close to a pool!
Now, some of these Leisure Pools aren’t as themed, especially at moderate and deluxe hotels, so keep that in mind if you’re headed to one of these instead of the main pool. If you don’t mind that, then these are a great way to have a more relaxing day or evening by the pool. Additionally, while you can certainly bring your kids to most of these pools, we do encourage you to remember that it may be less entertaining for some of them, and they may prefer the larger pool, which often has Cast Members playing fun music and games during most of the day.

We LOVE the Cozy Cone! During the day, especially at a slower time of year, it is a delight to grab a beverage and relax in a cone. We’ve had the area to ourselves or almost completely to ourselves during the day, and it was a great way to bask in the magic on a ‘rest’ day. We also love the Computer Pool at Pop Century, but that was more of a late night thing after the parks for us. The vibes by the CP are awesome for a night swim, and it was never very crowded when we were there.

I wish they would bring back pool hopping for guests.

I will argue all day long that the leisure pools are one of the areas where Saratoga Springs and Old Key West really shine above other resorts. Both resorts have multiple pools that are quiet and out of the way and often times have nobody visiting them.
