We’ve seen some…rather interesting souvenirs in Disney World.
Some are just crazy expensive, like that crystal version of Cinderella Castle in Crystal Arts in Magic Kingdom (we’ll buy this when we when the lottery). Then there was the Figment Popcorn Bucket that dropped in 2022 and caused sheer chaos in EPCOT. Some souvenirs, though, are just so OUT there, so OUTRAGEOUS, that we wonder why Disney decided to sell them.
Animal Poop Candy
Okay, the Animal Poop Candy that used to be available in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Zuri’s Sweet Shop is one of our favorite weird souvenirs. So, basically, this was candy that was created to look like poop from specific animals. It was chocolatey and, yes, DELICIOUS, but it was also educational.
Just because this idea was bizarre, though, didn’t make it a bad idea. We feel like kids would LOVE this, but we guess there wasn’t enough love because the poop candy is officially gone.
Poop Candy and 3 Other Snacks That Can No Longer Be Sold in Disney World
Single Rider Tee
We’re still not sure how this t-shirt ever passed through whatever policies Disney has in place to approve merchandise, because this whole “Single Rider Seeking A Party of Two” is SO cringe that we can’t imagine someone didn’t say “Maybe we shouldn’t make this shirt.” But Disney DID make this shirt and sold it in Disney World.
To this day, we haven’t seen anyone actually WEARING this shirt, so at some point, Disney must have figured it out it was NOT the hit they thought it would be.
Disney World’s Most Cringe-Worthy Souvenirs
Villains Meme Mugs
Disney showed exactly JUST how out of touch it was with today’s youth by releasing some mugs with Disney Villains on them and memes. These were not amusing or funny in anyway, just 100% cringe. Someone was TRYING, but maybe a little too hard.
It got worse, though. There were Meme Pin Sets, too. We can’t even!!!
We didn’t see these around for very long, though.

The Ugliest Disney Sweater Ever
We also often question quality control when it comes to other Disney items of clothing. Take this sweater, for example, which is…well, it’s something. It looks like a page ripped from a coloring book that was then colored in by a toddler. Seriously, this hurts our eyes to stare at it for more than a few seconds.
Now, don’t get us wrong. We love the fireworks over the castle, but this isn’t a very good depiction of that, although it could TOTALLY win an Ugly Sweater contest.

An Actual Oil Lamp
This one comes courtesy of the Walt Disney Archives. Now, the Archives don’t save ALL the Disney Parks merchandise that releases, but we guess some of it is just so DISTINCT that it should be preserved forever. Yes, at one point, you could buy an OIL LAMP in Disney World.
This was, VERY OBVIOUSLY, something sold in the 1970s.

Awww, kind of sad to read that the fireworks and castle shirt is considered ugly. My oldest daughter has this shirt (it’s actually a heavy weight long sleeve t-shirt). She is pale with long blonde hair and it’s so pretty on her. Maybe the shirt isn’t popular, but we think otherwise.
Reading this reminded me of when my youngest daughter was in elementary school and another student told her that he thought her cell phone was ugly. Go figure! 🤣

My husband and I ask that question a lot lately. Who are the people designing the disney shirts? He has money burning a hole in his pocket. He loves Star Wars, but he can’t seem to find anything to spend his money on. Also, I look around to see what other guests are wearing. I don’t see them wearing the clothes that are being sold in the park. Disney is missing out.
