It is hard to believe that we are under two months away from December.
It has been a busy year for Disney World and the Walt Disney Company in general. Within this year, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the new Country Bear Jamboree opened in Magic Kingdom. The EPCOT Transformation was officially marked complete when CommuniCore Hall and Plaza opened. At D23, we got the announcement that eight new rides would make their way to Disney World. Genie+ changed to Lightning Lane Multi-Pass, and Individual Lightning Lane changed to Lightning Lane Single Pass at both Disney World and Disneyland. We even got word that four more cruise ships would be joining the Disney Cruise Line line-up, making for a total of 13 ships in the fleet by 2031. It is crazy to look back on all that happened this year, but there is still more to come! Get ready for these two game-changers that will be coming this December!
As we said, a lot happened this year, but there is still more fun to come, and these two new Disney additions are less than two months away!
This December, a brand-new hotel will open at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is set to open on December 17th!
We have been keeping up with the construction of this new Disney Vacation Club addition, and it is really coming together! Earlier this year, Disney shared a sneak peek at some of the rooms and some of the environmental strides they are making with this brand-new hotel.
Sales for contracts to current Disney Vacation Club members went on sale on October 1st. Soon, on October 15th, Disney Vacation Club current owners with existing and active contracts at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Villas and Bungalows, as well as those who have added-on a contract for this hotel, will be able to use their Disney Vacation Club points to book a stay. On October 29th, the general public can purchase points. New Disney Vacation Club members at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resorts Villas & Bungalows will be able to book with their points starting November 5th, followed by all current Disney Vacation Club members open to booking with their Disney Vacation Club points as of November 19th.
Disney Announces 4 (!!!) Exclusive New Perks for Polynesian Village Resort Island Tower
Guests staying at the Island Tower will be close to the Magic Kingdom and can enjoy the amenities at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The new tower will also bring four different room layouts, including Duo-Studios for two people, Deluxe Studios that sleep up to four, One-Bedroom Villas that sleep up to five, Two-Bedroom Villas that sleep up to nine, and a brand new layout will also debut! The Two-Bedroom Penthouse Villas will sleep up to eight and will offer birds-eye views of Seven Seas Lagoon, Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Oak Trail, and Magnolia Golf Courses.

The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is not the only new Disney addition coming in December!
The Disney Treasure, the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, will set sail on her maiden voyage on December 21st.
The Treasure is the sister ship of the Disney Wish and is part of the Triton/Wish class. While these ships may be sisters, there will be so many new experiences on board!
The AquaMouse will have a brand-new story called ‘Curse of the Golden Egg.’ The ship will be home to the highly anticipated Haunted Mansion Parlor, a Jungle Cruise-themed lounge, and Periscope Pub, which is a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea-themed lounge.

The Treasure will be home to popular dining options that are aboard the Wish, like the Marceline Market, Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods, 1923, and World’s of Marvel, which will have a brand new show! A new dining experience will be part of the ship! Plaza de Coco is a ‘Coco’ themed restaurant that will not only feature “modern twists on traditional Mexican fare” but also include a special two-part show featuring some of your favorite characters from ‘Coco,’ like Miguel!
We can’t wait to check out The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and the Disney Treasure for ourselves when they both debut this upcoming December! As always, stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney news, updates, and tips!
