We love Cast Members! They are what make Disney World such a magical place, and we can’t thank them enough for what they do every single day.
Disney World wouldn’t be the same without the Cast Members, and we wanted to talk about a rule at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT that Cast Members are begging you not to break.Â
If you are headed to EPCOT soon and are a fan of thrill rides, you will likely want to check out Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This is one of the newest Disney World attractions and is a high-speed adventure as you help the Guardians of the Galaxy save the galaxy. Currently, you will need to join a virtual queue or purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass to experience this attraction, a stand-by line is not currently available.
In this attraction, you will step inside the Wonders of Xandar pavilion and learn about Xandar. The tour concludes with a demonstration of the Cosmic Generator, but then something goes wrong. Something always has to go wrong, right? We won’t spoil the whole story or what happens next, but there is an important rule that the Cast Members who work at the ride are BEGGING you not to break. It is a simple rule, but it makes their lives so much easier if you follow it. Simply listen to Cast Member instructions during the pre-show (well, at all times really, but especially during the pre-show).Â
For starters, when you are told to “stay inside the lighted ring,” make sure you are actually inside the lighted ring. If you don’t know what we are talking about, you will know soon enough, but just take a quick look at the ground and make sure you aren’t outside the lighted ring. It is around the outside of the room, so if you are in the middle and don’t see the lights, you are all set!
Not only is staying inside the lighted ring for your safety, but it also makes sure that Cast Members are able to run the pre-show as efficiently as possible. No one likes waiting in line!
Also, there will be a point in time where there will be some doors that look like you may be able to push them open. A general rule at Disney World, is that if you have to open a door or move a chain, you are likely going the wrong way. Of course, there are some cases when you need to open a door (bathrooms in Animal Kingdom or some merchandise store doors), but for the most part while you are in an attraction, doors will open automatically for you.
With this in mind, even though it might be tempting to push open these doors, wait for them to automatically open. It really won’t save you much time in the long run and Cast Members would really prefer you wait for them to open automatically. The next time you head over to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, make sure you are following instructions during the pre-show.
Of course, make sure you are always following Cast Member instructions! They are there to make sure you stay safe while having fun. Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World tips and tricks!

When we went through the pre-shows (there are 2), people started going through doors to the line of the ride while pre-show 2 was still going on. Pre-shows are not optional at Disney. No matter how many times you have seen them, you still have to stand there and wait.

The me first mentality that’s been a life time trait that a certain former president and current candidate follows has unfortunately permeated to the general populace. This needs to stop on all accounts. Time to make our nation kind and understanding.
