Hurricane Milton arrived in Florida last night ahead of Hurricane Warnings for the counties that Disney World resides in.
Ahead of the hurricane, Disney World announced that it would close its theme parks and Disney Springs early yesterday, October 9th, and remain closed today, October 10th. Disney World visitors were instructed to shelter in place at their hotels, with Disney announcing that they would keep guests informed when it was safe to leave their hotels. Well, now, Disney has revealed that the parks and Disney Springs will reopen tomorrow, October 11th.
Disney added a Hurricane Milton Operational Impact on its website making the announcement that the Disney World theme parks, Disney Springs, and possibly other areas would reopen on Friday, October 11th. So if you’ve been visiting Disney World this week, you’ll be able to visit the parks and Disney Springs, and POTENTIALLY other places on property soon.
However, note that the parks will still remain closed today, October 10th, with tonight’s Mickeys Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom canceled (those with tickets will get refunds). So for now, it’s probably best to stay at your hotel if you’re visiting Disney World and stay out of the way of Cast Members who may be doing some clean-up after the hurricane.
In addition to theme parks and Disney Springs being closed today, water parks and recreation offerings are also closed. Disney has not yet confirmed when water parks and recreation offerings will return. You’ll want to keep an eye out for announcements, as well as details on the Disney World website.
Note that Orlando International Airport is still closed to commercial flights, although the airport did post an update this morning stating: “Emergency crews remained onsite overnight, and damage assessment will start taking place now. Once information becomes available about a specific time that commercial operations will resume, we’ll be sure to post about it.”
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

I feel sorry for anyone involved with the storm whether it’s a fouled vacation but especially those who were seriously affected.

This makes me angry. I canceled in advance of the hurricane but yet I couldn’t get refunded anything from what I was told. Oct 10th is the night I was to attend the party and they’re refunding people for their halloween party ticket!!! I was told it was non- refundable and could ONLY be used for another special event ticket. I would have rathered my money back!! But because I was preparing and not waiting until the last minute I was stuck with a “nonrefundable” ticket where others are being refunded!!!
