This week, we’ve been keeping a close eye on the path of Hurricane Milton.
The storm made landfall in Florida last night and many businesses and tourist destinations were closed in preparation for the bad weather. Among those locations that closed was Universal Orlando, but they’ve now released information about reopening.
Universal Orlando has released a statement on Twitter/X, sharing their sympathies for those affected by Hurricane Milton, as well as their gratitude for the hardworking Universal Team Members who weathered the storm on property. Along with this, Universal Orlando announced that normal operations will resume on Friday, October 11th.

This means that as of Friday, the theme parks will reopen, as will CityWalk. Halloween Horror Nights will also resume, and those with the Early Park Admission benefit will be able to enjoy that on Friday morning.
Universal Orlando closed the theme parks at 2PM on Wednesday, October 9th, and they remain closed today (Thursday, October 10th) to give the property time to assess any hurricane damage. This also goes for CityWalk and Volcano Bay. Universal Orlando has not released any information about the state of the theme parks and if there was any damage or flooding at this time.
We’ll keep you updated with any more hurricane and reopening news, so stay tuned to DFB.
