There is SO much to see and do in EPCOT that you might be surprised when you can’t do it all in a single day.
Sure, you can eat AND drink your way around the world, but you can also learn all about the cycle of water, go Soarin’ above the world, learn how Disney World grows a lot of its food, get shrunk down to the size of a rat, and more. However, there are some weird spots you might not expect to spend a lot of time in while you’re at EPCOT, but if you’ve got kids, these might be spots you’ll be visiting for A WHILE.
Yes, this is for those of you who have kids because there are a lot of areas that your kids are going to want to spend a lot of time in. For starters, there’s a little park area behind Spaceship Earth near CommuniCore Plaza with picnic tables and games occasionally scattered throughout.
Yes, you paid for a park ticket only to go to EPCOT so your kid can play Connect 4…
…or Cornhole. HOWEVER, this is an area with seats, so this could be a good place to let your kids run a little wild while you take a much-needed rest. Just embrace it!
However, there are a couple of other areas that will appeal to your kids. Bruce’s Shark World inside the Living with the Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion will call to your little guppies, who will suck you in, too. Here, you can test your knowledge of the seas with interactive quizzes from Nemo’s teacher, Mr. Ray. Of course, you’ll have to pose for a photo with Bruce, too. Don’t worry, fish are friends, not food (although we’re not sure what humans are so maybe don’t get TOO close).
There aren’t any places to sit here, though, so you’ll just have to be pulled along by your kiddos while they stop at very little interactive thing. Have fun!
Another area that kids LOVE in EPCOT (and you might even like) is the Advanced Training Lab in Mission Space. It’s a high-tech play area with space-themed games and activities for all ages. Little ones can crawl through wormholes in a fun interactive playground, while older kids can dive into digital games with a space theme.
So, yes, you’ll spend all that money on park tickets, but your kids will likely want to play in a playground or play video games all day. But just remember, it’s their vacation, too, and it’s a chance to take a break and catch your breath while they play.
