November is quickly approaching which means it’s time to start thinking about Thanksgiving!
As we get closer to the end of the Halloween season, The Walt Disney Company is already prepping for the holiday season. With Thanksgiving not far away, Disney recently announced its NEWEST Disney Cruise Line Float coming to this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and we’re here to share with you all the festive details!
Last year, the Disney Cruise Line delivered a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float that highlighted the new Disney Treasure cruise ship and that theme is sticking around in 2024 as the new float features it front and center!
This year’s Disney Cruise Line Thanksgiving Day Parade float is called “Magic Meets the Seas” and its concept art depicts the bows of eight Disney Cruise Line ships. According to Disney, the 2024 float does take some inspiration from the 2023 version, making the Disney Treasure — which is set to make its maiden voyage in December — the focal point of the float.
A major theme of this year’s float is the growth of the Disney Cruise Line. Not only will it highlight the Disney Treasure, but it will also feature two ships that will set sail in 2025: the Disney Destiny and the Disney Adventure. With the impending expansion and the announcement that even more ships are on their way, the Disney Cruise Line is expecting its fleet to grow to 13 ships by 2031.
Per the concept art, we can also see plenty of Disney and Pixar characters joining the fun! Captains Mickey and Minnie will be joined by several special guests that will, according to Disney, “represent the stories and experiences that will be brought to life onboard the Disney Treasure, including Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Miguel, and Moana.” As Disney stated, these characters represent special features and experiences coming to the Disney Treasure, such as the new “Disney The Tale of Moana” stage show.
Taking place on the streets of New York City, the Disney Cruise Line will obviously infuse the Broadway-style shows it’s known for into this Thanksgiving Day Parade float! Per Disney, spectators at the Parade and people watching the Parade at home will be treated to some classic Disney songs as well as a “confetti-filled finale set to the magnetic new Disney Treasure anthem, Live the Adventure.”
We can’t wait to see this brand-new float when it debuts on Thanksgiving! In the meantime, stay tuned right here at DFB for all the latest Disney news, tips, and more!

Absolutely! The parade is Tradition! We love the floats, the horses/Clydesdales, the bands, the behind the scenes and history pre-show and we love Macy’s….but not so much the shows and dancing waiting for the parade to begin. We especially love the Turkey and Star balloons that start the parade and Santa who ends it! That’s when Xmas shopping, music, movies and decorating should begin: Black Friday and after! We celebrate for 30 days: putting a wreath up on December 6th, St. Nicholas Day, and celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas through Twelfth Night/Epiphany on January 6th. The parade is especially great with hosts such as Al Roker and Hoda Kotb! The Disney float looks fantastic! We love the holidays…in their season ☺ !

Too much dancing and singing for me. Bring me the story behind the story. The color is the real diamond in the parade as we are allowed to hear the back story )n every aspect, float or band the USA has to offer. The show performances actually slow the excitement of the parade.
