There’s a NEW theme park coming to Central Florida!
For a while now, we’ve been getting hyped about Epic Universe, the latest theme park to join the Universal Orlando Resort. We’ve seen lots of teasers about the attractions, shopping, and dining offerings coming to the park, as well as the new hotels, but this whole time we’ve been waiting for an opening date. And now, we FINALLY know when the park will open!
Universal Orlando has announced that Universal Epic Universe will officially open to the public on May 22, 2025!
Tickets for the park will go on sale beginning October 22nd, 2024. Universal says tickets will be introduced in phases. The following ticket types will be on sale on October 22nd:
CNN has reported that ticket prices will range from $374.88 to $554.87 (including tax) for a 3-day ticket that includes 2 days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure and 1 day of access to Epic Universe.
Annual Passholders will get the exclusive right to purchase single-day tickets for Epic Universe beginning on October 24th, 2024. Universal says single-day tickets for the general public, additional multi-day ticket options, Florida resident tickets, Universal Express passes and more – will be available at a later date before the park opens.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel will also open on May 22nd, 2025 — and you can make reservations beginning on October 22nd.
Epic Universe will be Universal Orlando’s fourth park, after Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and the water park Volcano Bay, which the company counts as a theme park. Universal has called Epic Universe “its most ambitious theme park yet.” With this property, the size of Universal Orlando Resort is going to nearly double.
The park is set to have five different lands:  Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. You’ll enter through Celestial Park, and it will be the gateway to the other four lands. There, you’ll be greeted by garden landscapes, galactic theming, and the park’s icon, the Cronos (which is a giant clock).
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic will take visitors into the realm of the Wizarding World once again. Like the Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade sections of the other Universal parks, you’ll be transported into the movies. Except this time, you’ll be visiting a land that’s a blend of 1920s wizarding Paris from Fantastic Beasts as well as the British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter films. Of course, this new land will have a brand-new ride, as well as new dining, shopping, and entertainment themed to the franchise.
If you’ve been jealous of Universal Hollywood, then you’ll be happy to know that SUPER NINTENDO WORLD is coming to the East Coast. Once you step into the iconic green Super Mario pipe, you’ll be transported to a colorful and interactive world with two distinct areas — Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country. There will be three new attractions here.
For Dreamworks fans, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk will take you to “the world’s first dragon-Viking utopia.” You can join Hiccup and his dragon friends in exploring three new attractions, three new restaurants, a play area, a new show, and more.
But of course, one of the most highly-anticipated lands is Dark Universe, which will feature the iconic Universal Monsters. Dark Universe will feature two attractions (including the E-ticket Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment), meet-and-greets with MONSTERS, dark dining experiences, and more. If you’re a Halloween Horror Nights fan, this is a year-round dream come true!
But that’s not all! Epic Universe will also be surrounded by some NEW hotels. Universal Helios Grand Hotel, which we mentioned above, Universal Stella Nova Resort, and Universal Terra Luna Resort will all be nearby for those who want to prioritize being close to the new park. The Epic Universe property is not attached to the current Universal Orlando property (where the other parks and CityWalk reside).
We can’t wait to check out Epic Universe for ourselves when it opens in 2025! Stay tuned to DFB for more updates.

I wonder if there will be a shuttle between the new park and the older ones?
