One of our biggest gripes with the Disney World parks centers around one thing: BREAKFAST. It’s not easy to find a quality quick-service breakfast meal in the Disney parks. What gives, Disney?! Well, we’ve got some good news — our trusty old favorite, Satu’li Canteen, is here to save the day.
Here’s a little history lesson for you. Back in the day, Satu’li Canteen used to have a full menu of breakfast items at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Then, over time, the restaurant shifted to a lunch- and dinner-only spot, leaving us breakfast lovers in the dust. But now that the holiday season is approaching and we’re anticipating more crowds in Disney World, BREAKFAST IS BACK, BABY!
Disney just announced that Satu’li Canteen is debuting a new breakfast menu! Okay, technically we’ve seen these dishes before (and loved them!) when the restaurant first opened in 2017. But, breakfast has been missing for a while and we’re excited to check it out! The changes will start NOW, so get going and go check out the tasty new options. Wanna see what’s available? DUH! Let’s dive in.
OK, first up is a classic breakfast staple: a bowl of fruit! This one is called the Tropical Pandoran Forest Fruits, served with fresh yogurt, muesli, and honey for $11.99. When we had this back in the day, we thought it was a light and refreshing option that didn’t skimp on taste.
Now, we are SUPER interested in this Cinnamon French Toast with blueberry cream cheese, passion fruit anglaise, and sausage, because it was SO good when we had it in the past. Y U M. A hearty quick-service meal with a side of sausage? Sign us up! This one is $12.99.
This restaurant is practically famous for its protein bowls, so of COURSE, Disney made a breakfast version! This is the Slow-roasted Pork Shoulder Potato Hash with chorizo sausage and charred onion sauce for $13.29. We’re not gonna lie. This looks AMAZING! We hope it lives up to the old version because it was our favorite of all the breakfast items!
Finally, we saved the potential best for last. This is the Vegetable-Goat Cheese Frittata with wood-fired beef tossed in chimichurri. You had us at goat cheese. This one is $14.29, and we’re hoping it’s worth every penny because it was so good when we had it in the past — but that’s Satu’li Canteen, for ya!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is pretty sleepy in the morning, but most people head straight to Pandora to get a ride on Flight of Passage. This could be the perfect place to stop for breakfast after a successful rope-drop ride on Flight of Passage, right?
We can’t wait to try all the new breakfast items! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
