Let’s go to Kusafiri!
A somewhat out-of-the-way yet enjoyable lunch experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has seemingly shut down, at least for now. The Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery, tucked into a higher corner of the park’s Africa section, previously offered several unique lunch dishes. However, that wasn’t the case during our last trip to the park.
In early November 2024, we noticed that Kusafiri’s hours on the Walt Disney World app were only showing as 8:00AM to 11:00AM and that the cafe only had a breakfast menu listed.

On our most recent visit to Animal Kingdom, we sought out a cast member at the nearby Harambe Fruit market to get clarification on the outlet’s status, and we were told that Kusafiri has, in fact, stopped serving lunch.
Shuttered during lunch
The loss of Kusafiri’s lunch menu is a bit of a bummer. As we discussed earlier this year, when we reviewed the cafe’s lunch options, we found the cafe to be a “great place to stop if you’re looking for a quick pastry or snack, or you want an entree you can order and eat quickly.” At the time, we particularly enjoyed the Harissa Chicken Wrap, which provided a cool and refreshing quick lunch option

The Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has dropped lunch from its present menu offers, seemingly for the foreseeable future. Stay tuned to DFB for further coverage of Disney eats.
