We go to Disney World every day, and because of that, we tend to notice quite a bit.
And lately, we’ve noticed that different generations have wildly different approaches to the parks. Of course, it makes sense when you think about it. But, there’s one generation that’s bringing a weird sort of energy to the parks. No offense, Gen Alpha, but Disney needs to get rid of these trends.
Gen Alpha represents people who were born between 2010 and 2024 (ish) — so essentially, babies (if any babies are reading this we will be very impressed!) to middle schoolers. Yes, this is a very “old man yells at cloud” coded post, but we already roasted millennials so we figured it was only fair. And, while Disney probably can’t do much about these things except for maybe one of them, we still think they need to go.
The Frozen Fad Needs To Fade
Put your pitchforks away! We didn’t say Disney needs to get rid of every instance of Frozen that exists in the parks, but you can’t deny that there’s a LOT of it. There are multiple character meet and greets dedicated to the franchise, plus rides, shows, and stores, and don’t even get us started on the souvenirs.
We love the story of Frozen and you can’t deny that the songs are a BOP. But, you know when you find a new favorite food or song and it’s all you eat or listen to for a while, and then suddenly you realize you’re sick of it? That’s kind of the vibe we’re feeling about Frozen these days. Which is perfect, because we’re still anticipating the third and fourth installments of the franchise to come out.
Pay Attention To Your Surroundings
This certainly isn’t exclusive to Gen Alpha by any means, but there seems to be a trend of folks getting so into their Disney experience they aren’t paying as much attention to their surroundings as they maybe should be. We talk about not stopping in the middle of the sidewalk quite often, but it seems the trend has spilled over to lines as well.
Give others space, people! We know you want to get to the front of the line because so do all the other people in line — that’s kind of the whole point of waiting in one. But, pushing and shoving your friends into other people or getting all up in someone’s business to try to get them to move forward is less than cool.
TikTok Is Taking Over
Speaking of stopping in the middle of the walkway, please quit making TikToks in the middle of the walkway as well. We’re super thrilled that you feel confident enough to film yourself doing a dance while surrounded by thousands of people, but just make sure you’re not in anyone’s way when you do it. We can’t blame you for wanting to document your experience (since that’s kind of our whole thing, too) but don’t forget to live in the moment — you’re at Disney World, after all!
Of course, we’re really not here to yuck anyone else’s yum — we totally understand why these trends are popular among Gen Alpha. As long as you’re not disturbing anyone else, do yo thang (oh man I’m old) and live your best Disney World life!
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for the latest news and updates from Disney World. Stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog so you don’t miss a thing!

I ride a scooter because of a disability. I wish I had a dollar everytime someone stopped and stood in front of me or crossed my path not looking or anything. When you are on a scooter, they act like you are not there. Stand in front of you when you are trying to see something, it never ends.

I wish there were no cellphones aloud when you get in line . When you text or call your friend to meet you in line it is just plan rude to the other guests who get cut in line.

No offense Gen X but you need to stop wailing and crying every time an attraction that absolutely no one was experiencing gets closed. Yes, I’m talking about MuppetVision. As those Frozen fans you complain about will tell you, “Let It Go.”

I’d like to see the wearing Disney PJs to the parks go away. Yes, moms and dads, it is “cute” to have your kiddies (and sometimes the parents as well) all dressed alike, but it’s also disturbing that you’re wearing PJs as outdoor clothes. Call me old-fashioned or a party-pooper, I don’t care, it just seems weird.
I’ll second the call for people to avoid suddenly stopping in a moving group of people, or suddenly cutting off to the side, or even backing up WITHOUT LOOKING. I also have a mobility scooter as I am bone on bone in the knees and can’t get knee replacements due to other medical issues and I’ve lost count of how many people could have been seriously injured if I had been even a shade less vigilant or skilled at operating the scooter. It’s not about demanding the right of way as one person accused me; it’s about no wanting to ruin your visit with an injury that you could have avoided by not running around like you’re in an open space! Then there are those who back up into me while I’m parked at a parade, fall over me, and then tell everyone around them that I ran into them so that everyone gives me dirty looks! Not cool.

Yes, Frozen has definitely been overdone and shoved down the consumer’s s throats. With so many characters from white choose, I guess I find it strange that the extreme popularity has lasted this long. I guess I was hoping to enjoy my day at the main pool at Saratoga without having to hear dozens if kids screaming Let It Go.
I completely agree about the lack of awareness, whether due to using phones for whatever reason, or stopping an ECV right in the middle of the street, or letting kids run out in front of others. I can’t tell you how many close calls I’ve had when I have had to stop short to keep from tripping over a child.
I am not going to blame this on any one generation, as pretty much all are guilty of the “Disney Inattention” habit in one way or another.
Oh, and as for people wearing pajamas to the parks, the pajamas at least cover all body parts, and aren’t usually worn like 2nd skins!
