Okay, so we’ll admit that we’re a sucker for a good food truck.
Okay, well, we’re a sucker for anything related to food, but there’s something fun about food trucks. Now, you may not know, but Disney Springs has several food trucks that pretty much stay parked in the area year-round. But a special NEW food truck has arrived in Orlando, and we’re excited because it’s affiliated with one of our favorite cookie spots, Gideon’s Bakehouse.
So for today ONLY, Gideon’s Bakehouse will have the Stuart & Bonnie’s food truck at their East End Market location from noon until sellout with a test menu of citrus desserts and drinks. Now, this is an early preview of this food truck, so if you’re heading there, you need to know that there is one rule: all items are limited to one per person. However, everyone will also get a free art menu and a sticker, magnet, and button (while supplies last). Of course, we had to check it out!
So how popular is this food truck? Well, although it doesn’t open until noon, the line for the food truck had already wrapped around one side of the building at 10:30AM.
It eventually got much longer and wrapped around all three sides of the building back to the front! At 11:45AM, there were about 260 people waiting in line.

So let’s talk about the menu: as we mentioned, everything is inspired by citrus.
We also got a chance to talk to Gideon’s Bakehouse owner, Steve Lewis. He told us that he expected the Cuban Gelato Sandwich to be the big hit of the day.
We also mentioned an interview we did with him a few years ago when he hinted at additional locations. At the time, Gideon’s had five concepts in mind, but Lewis confirmed today that this wasn’t one of them. Stuart and Bonnie’s is a newer idea, but seems the most natural step for Gideon’s. He also said that Stuart and Bonnie are his two favorite IPs.

Lewis did, however, hint at other fixed locations coming to the area. As we mentioned, this is an early preview of the food truck, but Gideon’s is hoping to have the food truck officially ready by summer 2025. If you’re interested, you can also purchase a cute Stuart & Bonnie’s tote bag while supplies last. For the record, we waited 225 minutes in line, with 141 of those minutes after the truck opened. There were still about 100 people in line when we left. Whew! But for good food? WORTH IT.
Of course, you KNOW us, so we picked up some goodies. We tried the Cuban Gelato Sandwich…
…the Icebox Citrus Tart…
…Bonnie’s Shortbread…
…Florida a la Mode…
…and Stuart’s Soda Pop.
