Three words: Mini. Mango. Pie. Trust us — it’s AMAZING! But that’s not all that the Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes restaurant has to offer. This place has some great quick-service snacks, like Crispy Pork Pot Stickers and even an American Kobe Cheeseburger!
So, why are we talking about this hidden gem at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Well, we have an important update — especially if you were planning to take advantage of an old perk at this restaurant.
Back in 2024, we discovered a FUN souvenir available at a quick-service restaurant of all places! Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes sold an exclusive 40. oz tumbler, but the best part was that you could get free refills all day. The old rules stated that if you brought the tumbler back another day, additional refills would cost $2.12 for the entire day. Here’s the big caveat, though: the deal was only available at Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafes.
Well, we’ve got an important update to share. During a recent visit to Animal Kingdom, we learned that while these tumblers are still for sale, they are NOT refillable anymore. According to a Cast Member, Disney discontinued the perk because people kept trying to refill their tumblers at other restaurants.
For now, you’ll be out of luck if you want to fill up your tumbler with anything other than water. Darn! It was a nice perk while it lasted. At least Disney still offers its own Resort Refillable Mugs. These things are SUPER popular in Disney World, but our only complaint is the fact that these are plastic. We’d LOVE to see a metal, insulated version of these refillable mugs someday. Imagine drinking COLD water on a hot day in Disney World!
Don’t forget you can bring your own reusable water bottles to Disney World, but (obviously) you can’t fill them with soda or any other soft drinks. The only way to get unlimited refills of that good old Diet Coke we love here at DFB is to purchase a Resort Refillable Mug and stop by a hotel food court.
In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.

A few years ago, they did offer a metal version of the refillable mug at our resort food court (Music). It was about $7 more than the plastic ones. I think they’d sell a ton of in-park mugs if they decided to offer them, especially if they had park-specific designs, or perhaps one that worked in all parks like the popcorn buckets. One price, refill all day or all trip. Have never understood why they need to charge $4-5 for a bottle of water that costs them maybe 25 cents though.

The material is not the issue with the resort mugs, the issue is the lack of interest on Disney’s behalf in the reduction of waste. It costs the same as it does to purchase a new cup each visit. Therefore, people aren’t brining purchased cups back, they are buying new ones and throwing them away because they already have some at home.

We love Y&Y, and that mini mango pie is killing me right now lol. But we never had the tumbler. Aside from the ‘confusion’ about where it could be refilled, I imagine another problem is that unless you spend your day bouncing back and forth between Flights of Passage and Expedition Everest (which wouldn’t be a terrible way to spend a day), it would not be very convenient to get your refills.
