Picture this: You’re strolling through Disney World on your vacation a few years from now, and as you make your way out of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you suddenly enter… the town of Springfield from The Simpsons. Wait, what?
Technically, Disney owns Fox — which is the home of Homer, Bart, and the rest of the Simpsons family — so it’s not too far of a stretch. And, according to a new survey being sent to Disney park guests, it could actually happen.
D’Oh boy! The Orange County Register has reported that Disney is sending a survey out to recent park guests asking if they would like to see Simpsons-themed lands, attractions, and meet-and-greet characters in the theme parks, according to blogger Drew Smith.
Disney acquired The Simpsons back in 2019 when they purchased 21st Century Fox for $71 billion. The contract Fox previously signed with Universal for exclusive rights to The Simpsons in its U.S. theme parks was not impacted by the Disney acquisition — both the Orlando and Hollywood Universal parks have Simpsons lands based on Springfield, where the show is set.
The timing here is especially interesting, as Universal’s 20-year contract to use The Simpsons in its theme parks expires in 2028 — giving Disney free rein to add Simpsons IP to the parks as they see fit.
We previously saw Simpsons characters at a meet-and-greet during the D23 Expo in 2019, as part of Disney’s push to market Disney+, where The Simpsons is available to stream.
Of course, Disney hasn’t made any sort of official announcement about bringing The Simpsons to the parks and we doubt they will anytime soon — if they ever even do. It’s entirely possible that this survey could end up going nowhere. Maybe Disney gets negative results about bringing new not-originally-Disney IP like The Simpsons into the parks and decides not to attempt to bring any sort of theming to the parks.
Or, maybe, five years from now, we’ll be eating our words and a Lard Lad doughnut in Disney World. One thing is for sure — we’ll be on the lookout for the latest Disney parks news so you don’t miss any important updates. Make sure you stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney news!

Katherine says
I might be in the minority, but I hope this doesn’t happen
TessandTobin says
Oh H**L no. So what if Disney ‘technically’ owns Fox? What do the Simpsons have to do with Walt Disney? Let them stay at Universal.
You’re not alone, Katherine. I truly hope this never happens.
Abi says
I guess I shouldn’t judge as I’ve barely watched The Simpsons, but I really don’t want them coming to Disney World.
DonnaTheDead says
Oh, dear god, NO! Simpsons has no place in WDW!
Hey, maybe Disney can REALLY cheap out and buy all the props and costumes from Universal. And, since they’re in the mindset of removing classic attractions (Rivers of America/Tom Sawyer Island), maybe they should take out Pirates, Haunted Mansion or Jungle Cruise so they can execute this ill-conceived plan. SMH.
Besides, The Simpsons has now officially sucked more than twice as long as they were good. So what’s the point?
Pam says
I’m with you, Katherine. Let Universal renew their contract.
Lucretia Kleinman says
You’re not in the minority! I hate this. It’s not Disney.
Shelley says
I agree! I hope it does NOT happen!
BR says
Please no Simpsons. Not true Disney
Michelle N says
Oh man – please no please no please no. And i say that as someone who does enjoy the Simpsons. But definitely does not fit ANY of the theming at any of the parks. Maybe Disney could use this as a bargaining chip with Universal (FL) to negotiate between Simpsons IP and other MCU IP? But please no.
Louisa says
I’m with all of you. Please no Simpsons at Disney!
Don says
Of course they want the Simpsons..Just like Universal. Disney wants to be Universal, they may even sell to Universal!
Lizzie says
I hope the Simpsons don’t come to Disney. Instead of adding lands (WDW has plenty of property), Disney seems to be just replacing lands, which makes me really sad! If they could ADD more lands then maybe the parks wouldn’t feel so overcrowded! The Simpsons just aren’t Disney-even if Disney does own them.
Ryan says
NO NO NO!!! I never watched the Simpsons but know about them and the are NOT Disney!!! I don’t care if they are part of Disney now, they don’t belong in the parks – any parks unless it’s one of their own.
Kate says
What an absolutely awful idea! It’s like they’re trying to drive people away.
Tracy Brennan says
I agree that adding the Simpson’s is a horrible idea. Let Universal pay Disney to keep the Simpson’s over there.
