The holiday crowds may have largely left Disney World, but now runDisney crowds have begun to sneak their way for the first event of the year.
That’s not all though — cold weather has also snuck its way into Orlando and while yes, it is winter, temperatures are DROPPING! This week in Disney World will be a cold one, so replace your bathing suit with your long layers and jacket because Blizzard Beach will be CLOSED!
It’s not often that any of the Disney World parks close for anything, but the water parks will close if the temperature drops too low for the safety of both the Cast Members and park guests. According to Disney World’s website, Blizzard Beach is currently not showing any operating hours for January 7th or 8th.
If temperatures continue to stay low, it’s possible the park could continue to be closed for additional days this week. When it’s winter time in the parks and you’re contemplating buying yourself a ticket for a Disney World water park, we strongly encourage you to check the weather ahead of time and maybe not buy your ticket until closer to your trip if you can help it.
Now, if you’ve bought a ticket for the water park and it happens to be closed on that day, Disney likely won’t issue you a refund, but you will be able to use that ticket at the water park in the future. While that’s great, we know it’s not ideal to have your plans changed as such, so unless you’re really set on visiting the water park during a colder part of the year, we say it’s best to leave it for a spring or summer trip.
