Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Disney World and Disneyland both have a number of mountain-themed rides, ranging from Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Expedition Everest, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and, of course, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a man went viral for constructing his very own version of the Matterhorn in a backyard, and now he’s taking on a new challenge.
Earlier today, Disney announced that the new Disney Very Merriest After Hours event will replace Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party during the 2021 holiday season.

After Disney announced that the After Hours Boo Bash event would replace Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party, we wondered if a similar change would take place for the holidays and today that was confirmed. So, now the real question is just how this new Disney Very Merriest After Hours event differs when compared to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We learned today that Disney World will be celebrating the holidays in Magic Kingdom with a new after-hours event, as well as the Christmas Tree Stroll in Disney Springs. We were SO excited to learn that Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion Holiday will be back this year, and today Disney alluded to a possible Disney Halloween in July celebration…with a Nightmare Before Christmas mention?!
